Publisher's Summary

Dante Gabriel is starving. What he craves is red gold - human blood. After being held captive as a blood slave to a female vampire for years, he has finally escaped. Unchained at last, he follows his nose to the nearest blood bank to sate his hunger.

ER nurse Erin Hamilton expects just another busy night shift…until she finds a gorgeous stranger vandalizing the hospital blood bank. Though her logic tells her to turn him in, she’s pulled by stronger and unfamiliar emotions to protect the man who seems oddly infatuated with her scent. Chemistry sizzles between them, but Dante, plagued by nightmares of his time in captivity, fears he won’t be able to control himself…especially when he discovers a secret she doesn’t even know she’s hiding.

Did not like this at all

It was boring. slow and barely had any grip. the story is being dragged on like the TV show " days of our lives"

Returned

I’m not sure how this book has so many stars. The narrators were both terrible. Woman almost sounds like a Siri wanna be but the male made me laugh. I think he was going for intense. The book itself was so bad. Unrealistic decisions made by the female character just made me roll my eyes time and time again. Characters have no depth I couldn’t careless what happened to them.

Disappointing.

This is apparently the first three books in the series, but they are each so short this whole volume would make up one book. I wish it was so much more fleshed out. Wasn't a fan of either the main characters or the male narrator.

I so wanted this to be good! It wasn't!

This book had some initial good 'bones' but it just did not deliver. It was frustrating and I found many times I was rolling my eyes.
I could not finish it!

Waste of a credit

I hadn’t realized the one credit would only get me an intro to the characters, it was short and devastatingly cheesy. The narrators were over the top dramatic or repetitious in intonation. Regrets.

And I bought this why?

The story was very weak. Early on I figured out who the abductor was. After listening to parts 1-3 that are included in this volume, I have no interest in listening to any more of it. If all you want is hot sex and don't care about a story, then this book is for you. Personally, I prefer to have a better story and less hot sex.

I think the performance would have been more enjoyable if Lauren always voiced the female's dialog and thoughts and John always voiced the male's dialog and thoughts.

Can’t get past the Man reading

Man reading this ruins the book for me! I can’t get past his cheesy, graphic novel approach to reading the book. Struggled through 15 chapters finally gave up!!

Very poor narration

The female narrator is monotone and robotic which makes it very very difficult to listen to her. The male narrator sounds as if he is trying way too hard to have a smouldering sexy voice. I am truly going to try to finish but it is very difficult to continue listening. I may have to just read the book on my own.

Well written

I like the idea behind this book. I understand the story line it's just that Dante seems like a whiney jerk, with trust issues and how he interacts with his family is questionable. Also I would like to add the performance of the people reading the book is okay, their voice over for the opposite characters during Dante and Erin chapters seem a bit exaggerated at first but you get used to it. A solution would be if the voices spoke each their own chapters but also their own voices during dialogues.

Waste of a credit!

This has got to be the worst audio book I’ve ever listened too. The narrators were horrible especially the male voice of Dante, he sounds like a 70’s porn actor. And the author writes like an old white man who has watched entirely to much 70’s porn! Using phrases like huge throbbing cock and sweet juicy pussy, who even talks like this??? Yeah that’s a NO from me, can’t do it!!

DNF - Rejection Ping Pong Match

This story has no character growth. I finish Book 1. It was like a game of ping pong. I want you - get rejected. You want to - get rejected. And then I want you - get rejected. You want to - get rejected. You are Mine... Just because one character is vampire it will make the story better.

Seriously - Don't even want to read further. Bit disappointed.

just ok

it was a bit too much drama for me. there are 15 books/ novellas in the series and I wasn't engaged enough to listen to all of them. the characters are interesting but I feel like I know who the evil villain is after book 3 but have to wade through the rest of the book to find out. I couldn't do it.

Story is good

The base story is good, just wish it was a different male narrator... the woman is excellent but the man's voice is like a joke... I find him sounding corny ... for lack of a better description of it.. he does a better job of imitating her than he does of being Dante...

Short

This should have been noted as a series of short stories. Or condensed in to one book.
