Publisher's Summary

Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon.

Knox doesn’t tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded, runaway bride.

Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin, to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way....With fists and beer. Usually in that order.

Too bad for Naomi, her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didn’t know she had. Now, she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home - with an 11-year-old going on 30 to take care of.

There’s a reason Knox doesn’t do complications, or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But, since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble, he can leave her alone, and get back to his peaceful, solitary life.

At least, that’s the plan, until the trouble turns to real danger.

Storyline dragged and jumped

I persevered through to the end of the book and did find the ending worth the listen. However, the storyline itself was very drawn out in some parts and in other parts it went from one event to another sporadically. The narrators voice for Knox was gruff and not easy to listen to in my opinion.

Just Beautiful

Heart touching, hopeful story with real and relatable characters. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed both the audio and ebook version - you’ll enjoy both or either.

Sweet & funny

Love the characters and their humour. The performances of the readers were great. I appreciated the bonus epilogue, which allowed a nice finality to the storyline and the characters.

trash read

Couldn't finish it. I rarely not finish books! But this one was SO predictable and cliche. The characters were not relatable, unrealistic and had no depth whatsoever and so the 'erotic' parts were really pedestrian. Really? could the protagonist really have no idea why a fully grown man would do all those nice chivalrous things for her despite his grouchiness??? I actually felt like I was wasting my time and getting stupider listening to it. The performers did their best to animate this very dry read. The writing was terrible and I cringed at many points of 'intimate tension'. Sorry to say this, but this really was a trash read.

The way the author keep the story interesting

I liked the uses of different voices for the characters, and that they have the emotions use in their voice when it’s being spoken

Powered through it so it could be over!

Basic highly predictable story. Explicit in a very cringy way. The narration itself was ok but the narrators voices (both male and female) really did not appeal to me personally and made for difficult listening. A lot of people clearly rate this story… it just wasn’t for me.
