Story
Killing the sadistic warlord known as the Dog Tongue took everything Gus Berry had, including the woman he loved. Now, all he wants is to get away from the bloody scene of their final showdown. But when he heads west in a stolen truck, a brutal snowstorm forces him to turn back—and seek refuge in the Dog Tongue’s former headquarters. Though it’s littered with human carnage, the abandoned luxury hotel has a lot to offer a guy like Gus. But in addition to soft beds and working toilets, he encounters still-lurking dangers both living and undead.

Story
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

I really enjoyed this book.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Excellent character depth and diverse individual character traits. I am an ex-serviceman myself self and I could totally relate to the way the soldiers joked and gave each other shit. Simply awesome. Keep up the good work guys. Most importantly though, R. C. Bray made the characters and story come to life and there is no better narrator out there.

28 days later mixed with a Mathew Reilly novel
Amazing story, I was hooked for every second and the performance by RC Bray was fantastic he really nailed it.
This book is up there with the realism of Max Brooks’ novel World War Z and gives a great look into how the US military would cope (or try to) with a Zombie outbreak. The explanations of the variable zombies were fantastic too, i was legitimately nervous at times with a sense of dread.
I loved that I couldn’t think of one annoying loop hole that could easily be avoided, the plot and elements were all covered very well and I found myself learning more about different styles of survival and machinery that could be used so effectively. Definitely going to a hardware store if the sh!t hits the fan!!
The military dialogue was encompassing and thorough and has lead me to saying ‘let’s get this squared away’ a lot!
I look forward to book two immensely and thank the writers for such a great novel to escape to, for my daily commute. I have so many favourite characters in this book and I really hope this becomes an anime series or HBO show because it would absolutely blow the walking dead out of the water by a country mile. I’d say this would make a movie but I’d be too sad for so many great scenes to be cut out in the small time frame.
Well done and bravo lads, amazing job.
