Publisher's Summary

Rachel is still reeling from the news that the Earth is secretly under attack by parasitic aliens known as the Yeerks. And that she and her friends - five kids who, purely by chance, stumbled onto a downed spacecraft and were given the power to morph into any animal they touch - are the planet's only defense. But Rachel's always been something of a daredevil. So when it's suggested that they infiltrate the home of their assistant principal, Mr. Chapman, who also happens to be a human host of the Yeerks, she volunteers. But what she finds inside may be more than even she can handle.

Animorphs Revival Through Audio

This is kind of a review for both of the books that I have released in the series so far. I adore the fact that they have chosen different narrators to reflect the different POVs from one book to the next. It’s absolutely amazing to be able to hear how the different characters view one another, and the choices the narrators make with the dialogue has been stunning.

So excited to see this continue!

Recommended for kids age 8-10? HA! Riiiiiiiight...

Great book. Great series. I’d say ages 10 and up though. Unless you’re ok with your 8 year old hearing about creepy mall pedos, giant cannibalistic centipedes, and parents who love their kids but don’t show affection due to the alien living inside their head.

On the other hand, I grew up watching The Land Before Time as a kiddo, and that’s basically Saving Private Ryan for 4 year olds. I guess I turned out alright. Right? So I take back the mansplaining of age recommendation to say this: Everyone should read this book.

But come on people, don’t be a monster... At least start with book one.

Another great audio book for this series

Poor Melissa. Great Rachel narration, even if she gives her a bit of a rasp. I'll check out the others when I can. Great that these books are coming to Audible, and finally in audio book form.

A good second chapter.

While I personally don’t find this the most exciting installment in the book series. It is a very good one as far as establishing the world, and character development is concerned. It definitely sheds some more light on the tragic events being perpetrated by the Yeerks. This book, written from the character Rachel‘s point of view, is a good low level neighborhood/city adventure. You can tell the author is trying to ease her readers into a more science-fiction world. In that respect, this book succeeds.

Excellent narrator

Obviously I’m only on the second book, but so far I think they’ve nailed the narrators! They’re doing a great job conveying the tone of the books. Can’t wait to keep listening!

If you find aliens interesting...

"If you're interested in aliens and stuff you might find this second book interesting" 10 year old listener. It was entertaining to have the story told from the point of view of another character from the first book.

Living the Adventure Once More

it's so great being able to listen to these stories. It's difficult to find time to read anymore. But being able to listen! That makes it so much more amazing. I'd only ever dreamed what the Animorph's voices sounded like. i am not disappointed. I can't wait to listen to book 3!
