About this listen

Lesson #1: Trust no one.

Eve has a good life. She wakes up each day, kisses her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except…

Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye.

Addie can’t be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that’s what everyone says.

But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet…

From the New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden comes a chilling story of twisted secrets and long-awaited revenge.

The story was good, if not a little predictable, although the final twist was unexpected.
However, I find it hard to listen to the female narrator. When she does a male voice, it’s all whispery and comes across slimy and creepy, even when the character is meant to be speaking normally. I’ve found this in the other Freida McFadden books I’ve listened to and it’s a real turn off. As a result, I won’t be listening to another novel if this lady is the narrator.

A little predictable

Another good story by Frieda but sometimes it frustrates me how dumb the main characters in her books are portrayed.

A bit frustrated times

I was a little over the subject matter for a while there, as i probably could relate a bit too much at certain things - but the twist at the end was great! 👍🏻

Didn’t see it coming!

Whilst this book was ‘enjoyable enough’ that I read it all (and never contemplated cancelling and closing it out for a refund) I did find the story lacked something to make it a bit more exciting. whilst yes, there were twists at the very end - They weren’t exciting enough, and they weren’t game changing, so I still could only give this book a 3 out of 5

Not my fave work of hers

It’s a classic Frieda book with a good twist at the end - did not see that! It’s a good performance too, super easy to listen too :)

Wow, what a twist

Just when I think I know how it’s going to end, there is another twist. The author pulls you in and nothing is achieved in my daily life until I finish the book… onto another one as she is brilliant!

Amazing book
