I just loved this story - it was my young neices favourite as a child and I can see why. She and I have been riders all our lives and love horses (in an all-consuming way!) I know virtually nothing about wild horses though and this book is a wonderful insight into the ways of the wild Australian Brumby. The writer of this story knows horses so well and she has taken me on a wonderful virtual journey into the Brumby country. The narrator is fantastic too - her tone and expression is just perfect for this story.

I live in the Murray Valleys and wanted to revisit the story after finding some history on the author recently. Even though I am an adult the story drew me in and made me feel as if I was indeed a wild brumby.
