About this listen

Years ago, the Child-Goddess Aphrael had hidden Bhelliom, the Stone of Power, at the bottom of the sea. Yet now it is needed again to stop a malign force from spreading evil and destruction across the lands. Sparhawk, Queen's champion, sets out to retrieve the Stone. But others seek the gem for their own diabolical ends. Most fearsome of these are the Shining Ones, whose mere touch melts human flesh from bone. Now Sparhawk finds himself stalked by these creatures out of myth...whose touch is all too real.©1994 Del Rey (P)2009 Audible, Inc. Action & Adventure Epic Fantasy

love this series well read. looking forward to more from him.
not a fan of the music interludes however but that's personal opinion

Great story

The reader would have done better by the author if he read each chapter well before recording. Not only pronunciations but misplaced emphases ... surely the producer checked each chapter before it was finalised. A good story spoiled by poor reading.

Too many mis-pronunciations.

Like I said for book 1 - I'm an Eddings fan. Read the books as they were released. Was excited to revisit via audio release. The story was as good as I remembered but the narrator and the music was all very disappointing in the extreme. The narrator mispronouncing the English language (and not being corrected by production staff) is ridiculous.

Have a listen but be prepared for these anomalies.

Great Story - narrator distracts

The narrator is so unsuitable for this story. Really ruins a truly wonderful story.

Narration ruins a truly excellent story
