Publisher's Summary

The Pandion Knight Sparhawk had bested the massed forces of the God Cyrgon upon the field of battle. But victory turned to ashes when the foul God's minions kidnapped Sparhawk's wife, the beautiful Queen Ehlana. Sparhawk must surrender Bhelliom, the awesome jewel of power - or Ehlana would die.But Cyrgon's lackeys had misjudged their foe. Sparhawk fought on, and none of his companions flinched from the awesome struggle, though each must vanquish forces of evil from Tamuli's dark past, and from fetid places beyond human ken.

Still, the full magnitude of their peril was yet to be revealed...Cyrgon had dared the unthinkable: He had called forth Kleal, Bhelliom's opposite, to rend the very world asunder. Thus, as it had ever been decreed, would Bhelliom and Kleal contend for the fate of this world--even as the man Sparhawk must finally face the God Cyrgon, in mortal combat and alone...

Great story but!

loved the book but the performance was poor. Mispronuncination was very off putting all through the story.

love!

I read these when I was in my early 20s so I wanted to see if I still loved them now that I'm in my 50s. I do!

Good not great

Worth it if you love the books.
It is a good audio book trilogy

It would have been better to have both trilogies read by the same Narrator, but still a good performance.

Some of the characters names are pronounced differently from the first Trilogy of the Sparhawk Saga, but by the fifth or sixth chapter you get used to it.
The music was annoying and popped up at odd chapters, completely unnecessary.

Another great story undermined by bad narration

Like I said about book 1 and 2 - I'm an Eddings fan. Read the books as they were released. Was excited to revisit via audio release. The story was as good as I remembered but the narrator and the music was all very disappointing in the extreme. The narrator mispronouncing the English language (and not being corrected by production staff) is ridiculous.

Have a listen but be prepared for these anomalies.

It’s sad when an excellent story is marred by a sub standard reader.

Yes, so it is, sad when a poor reader spoils an authors story by poor reading, mis-pronounced words, bad pausing in sentences, and lousy characterisations. Sorry David Eddings, but whoever chose Kevin Pariseau as reader for your book did you no favours.

sparhawk is awesome.

one of my favourite authors, such a great series.
i did have a few issues with pronounciation of names and such but overall i think the narrator did a good hob with the wide cast of characters

Narrator atrocious!!!!!

I absolutely love David Eddings books however the narrator's attempts at character voices and accents was atrocious. I struggled to finish this book and almost stopped on numerous occasions because of the attempted accents. The storyline seemed to drag on with many problems having very convenient solutions appearing making it very predictable. As I have already completed the rest of the books in his collection the time invested required a conclusion to the series a little disappointing but I have the consolation of knowing that I've finished the series.
