I've both read this light novel series, watched the anime and just starting to listen to audio version. This is a good light-hearted series thats both enjoyable and interesting. While the anime does broadly cover most of the light novel, you'll learn and experience more of the story listening to the series, the narrator does a good job at voicing Sei and leaves you loving the characters (or hating them.... really hate Kyle, sorry) and wanting to follow along on the journey.
