Publisher's Summary

In 2006, Mary Turner Thomson’s world shattered when she discovered her husband Will was a bigamist, con man and convicted sex offender. Unbeknownst to her, this would be the start of a bold new chapter in her life, fighting to protect other women from his heartless gaslighting campaigns - and putting a stop to his endless deception.

Mary thought her story would end with the revelation that Will in fact had several families - and numerous children. But when she discovered that he had continued to prey on new victims, she vowed to turn his betrayal into a force for good. On her mission to protect these women and others, Mary also learned more about the psychopathy behind Will’s duplicitous behaviour.

Teaming up with his newest fiancée in the US, Mary attempts to put an end to Will’s devastating activities. But will she and her fellow victims succeed in their ultimate goal: to bring down Will Jordan forever?

Mary Turner Thomson began telling her story in her first book, The Bigamist. Now, in The Psychopath, she delves deeper into Will's betrayal, telling an entirely new story of how she moved on, and helped others do the same.

Did we need a follow up?

I cannot help but wonder why this follow-up was written. "The Bigamist" was entertaining but this is repetitive, lacks insight (Mary is retelling the experiences of others for huge chunks) and it takes on a clinical diagnosis feel that really became dull. The writing just does not have the spark the first book did. Mary Turner Thomson is quite a good narrator. However, I did not need separate narrators for Will and Michelle's dialog. It was not necessary and distracted a bit from the story. (imho)

Do not waste your time

This is a book about the fact that the author wrote a book. It’s repetitive, badly written and boring. I thought I would be able to learn something from this book, instead I’m annoyed I wasted a credit on this rubbish.

It’s all about me

Having heard an interview on radio 5, I thought this would be an interesting listen. After a short while I was getting increasingly irritated by the author. Whilst of course she has been a victim of a very unpleasant man, I found her constant bragging unpalatable. I’m a black belt, I am a great mother, I’m a global author etc etc. I stuck with it but ended up disliking her as much as Will Jordan. Really don’t think someone with a music degree is qualified to be diagnosing a psychopath.

Loved both of your books.

Thank you for telling your story. I have loved listening to both of them. I realise that sounds a bit morbid but it is fascinating, scary and also inspirational.

Beware of Love Bombing

The Author is an intelligent, sensitive and thoughtful Narrator. Her story is quite intriguing. There are Psychopaths like Will Jordan who walk amongst us who have no conscience and take no responsibility of the dreadful suffering they cause others. They simply take from women and men and move on when the logistics no longer work for them, leaving a trail of financial and emotional destruction behind them. This man has fathered 13 children or more with different women.

The Author fought back to not only reclaim her life but go on to to live a wonderful life. She goes beyond her call of duty to support women who have also fallen pray to the Will Jordan she once married and had two children with. Will Jordan is so damaged and dangerous that he will never stop hurting other people while he is free to do so. This book has stayed with me.

Heartbreaking and empowering

This was a hard book to listen to. It is very well written, and narrated brilliantly. It made me think back to my own life, not of a partner, but of my parents. I stood up to them, and they ridiculed me to everyone because I wouldn't bow to them. I don't know where you found the strength to leave, but I'm glad you did, and found a way to help many others. Stay strong.
