Finally a litrpg without hours of boring stats!
Well read by Johnathan McClain.
A huge relief to find a book in this genre that doesn’t feel the need to inflate its word count with embarrassingly awkward harem elements!

I love this book, very clever and an interesting way to look at the Fermi Paradox.
BUT I could only give 4 stars for performance as it was hard to hear some of the words when the characters were meant to be whispering, or mumbling (except for Shortbus).
to hear it I have to skip back and really turn up the volume, especially if listening while driving or walking or making noise of any kind.
I know that they are whispering, but maybe there is a way to make it a tonal whisper, so I'm not deafened when it goes back to normal speaking.

This whole story just tickled my fancy. had so many laugh out loud moments, especially the banter between Ben and Shortbus.

The book made be audibly laugh more than a few times and even cry a little bit

Great start to the series, I bought this on the back of McClain's work on Noobtown and am happy to say, this more than lived up to expectation!

It took me about a third of the book to decide if I liked it, but this is a truly charming story that had me immediately buying book 2. The characters are very likable, the humour is genuinely funny and the story has a ton of potential. It was also the best performance I've heard by this actor, I guess he enjoyed it as much as I did. The only downside was the short length. It's been a long time since I enjoyed LitRPG so much.
