Like a thumbprint, personality type provides an instant snapshot of a person's uniqueness. Drawing on concepts originated by Carl Jung, this book distinguishes four categories of personality styles and shows how these qualities influence your life.

Story
While most contemporary Enneagram books stop at the descriptions of the nine types, Enneagram teacher and The Sacred Enneagram best-selling author Chris Heuertz uncovers the missing link in our journey of living into our true self: radical self-compassion that can bring us back to belonging. Rather than get stuck on stereotypes or curated personality, Heuertz proposes we develop an honest relationship with our type, confronting our "inner dragons," practicing self-compassion, and thereby coming to fully belong to ourselves - and, ultimately, to love itself.

- By Brenton Hughes on 13-12-2020
Publisher's Summary
Your happiness and success depend directly on your "people skills" - how well you get along with others, and how well you really know yourself. Now you can use a remarkable tool for evaluating your own personality and the personalities of your friends, family members, clients, and co-workers. It's called the Enneagram, an ancient geometric figure that delineates the nine basic personality types of human nature.

Enlightening.
Never understood my own brother until this book. I could never understand why he didn't just suck it up and get moving when it came to emotions. Now I know we deal with our emotions in the complete opposite way because of our fundamental personality differences. Thank you to the author. Truly life changing.

Excellent. And There's NO REPETITION
I won't go on in great detail about this audiobook. My primary reason for writing this, on Dec 10, 2016, is to say that whatever was going on in 2014 as far as multiple repetitions is no longer an issue.
This audiobook consists of ten approximately half-hour segments, or chapters: a general introduction to the enneagram, and nine individual chapters, one for each enneagram type.
It's all narrated by Don Richard Riso; Mr Hudson does not make an appearance. And each of the chapters on the types is in exactly the same format, so the material is clearly laid out, and Mr Riso does an excellent job of presenting it.
I think this is the best audiobook you're likely to find on the enneagram, and I unhesitatingly and unreservedly recommend it.

very real info and well laid out
This was very useful information. Starting with chapter two each number of the Enneagram gets a chapter, so it is easy to find a specific number's information. It gives practical information.

Prepare to fast forward a lot.
What would have made The Power of The Enneagram better?
The book is split into nine chapters, one for each enneagram. Each Chapter last approximately an hour however, the first 30 minutes or so of each chapter is a direct repeat of the introduction to the enneagram. This means one hears the same 30 minute introduction nine times. I like to Listen while I drive so manually trying to skip past the introduction 9 time was very frustrating.
What could Don Richard and Russ Hudson Riso have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
The content is good but the layout and presentation was frustrating to say the least.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
This book does give a good understanding of each type of Enneagram number and describes the best way to interact with each type. The content is good when it is new and fresh, but over half of the book is repeated 9 times.

NO REPEATS WHAT SO EVER!
This is really a Great book and I enjoyed it very much. I had delayed myself in purchasing and listen to this book on account of the many reviews criticizing that it was repeating itself. Now I'm sorry that I waited so long. I have listened and read many enneagram book and this book is refreshing to hear. It's not necessarily at the beginner's level so if you're familiar with the enneagram base it's easy to keep up with the different comparisons. There's information presented that I hadn't heard in other books or perhaps it was just said in a different manner. Not saying the entire book is this way but even small new information can be the key to what you've been looking for all along. and honestly I having a close 9 friend. I honestly really like the way this book presents the 9. It mentioning many weakness or ways to help them mentioned in this book that I show and use in the first four year relationship. Yet 9's always wanting being optimistic, I can see why it would be hard for them to hear the reality.

Every section is a repeat of Section 1!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
This is awful. Section 1 does not address the enneagram directly. Worst, when I fast forward to the next section - every section for the remainder of the audiobook is a repeat of section 1. The start of the section is nothing more than a commercial for Don Riso. I returned the book.
