Story
My name is Quinn MacKenna, and magic doesn’t work on me. When I’m not getting roped into bar brawls in Boston, I’m usually acquiring - stealing is a form of acquisition, you know - dangerous magical artifacts to turn around and sell them to the highest bidders. But I prefer to be paid in favors, not money. Because favors are a hot commodity in the Land of the Fae. Favors are the only currency that will buy the answers I seek: Why magic doesn’t work on me, and who my real father is.

Story
Abductions rarely go as planned...but this is just ridiculous. Torn from the Faeling games on the beaches of Scotland, Quinn MacKenna suddenly finds herself doggie-paddling in a turbulent sea of blood with no land in sight. And that’s the highlight of her day so far, because her abductors seem perfectly content to simply leave her in this strange Otherworld. Quinn must fight tooth and nail to unearth answers about herself and her place in the worlds of both Man and Fae...even if that means losing herself, first.

Story
Despite his recent victories, Nate Temple’s problems are only just beginning. Although it had been necessary, killing the most infamous of the Norse gods has consequences, and no one knows petty vengeance like the Aesir. Especially with Odin’s legendary spear mysteriously missing. But Nate has more important things to worry about than a pantheon of angry gods. Because the God of Mischief has been freed from his imprisonment, and so has his monstrosity of a son - a creature prophesied to play a major role in Ragnarok.

Two old dudes want to kill me. Oh, and one of them is my ancestor.... And after centuries of practice, they’re pretty good at the whole murder thing. But at least they want to kill each other just as badly. Now, I’ve taken down a Greek goddess, worn a Horseman’s mask, and I ride a homicidal unicorn who hates rainbows with a passion. Some might say sending two senior citizens to a permanent retirement home should be a breeze. It ain’t. Because that’s not my biggest concern. One of my friends is in danger, or possibly dying, and I need to get her back before her fiancé kills me.

More publisher packs, please!
This is a series which I had in my wish list for ages but couldn't quite commit to. Glad I didn't because the publisher packs of 3 books are just enough story and plot progression to make it all worth while. Good story, great narrator, but not enough of a hook to make me want to immediately go out and buy the next in series, will wait for next publisher pack. With multiple series running in parallel in the Nate Temple universe I think it makes it hard to really empathize with any of the main characters, though this series I think came closest.

first the narrator does an amazing job bringing the main character to life. I am amazed at the characters dialog. fun stuff and how can someone live through so much drama and trauma.

Excellent
While Quinn did not immediately grab my attention, her progress and character development is awesome to listen to. I love the Irishness and the Boston gangster in her. Next one coming right up. Thanks for writing more for me to enjoy.

Great story
I really enjoyed the series. I started with some of the Nate Temple box sets. And have moved on through some of the other series as well. This series is set in the same world as Nate Temple. The heroin, Quin, is a really good character. I think the narrator has helped with this. it’s really well done. The authors have been inspiring. I think using traditional favourite fairytale characters from the past woven into the story has been really quite witty and clever. I get through a lot of audible books. Many of this type of genre. This has been really good because it hasn’t spent too much time on the romance. You get a bit, but not too much. I think some of the other titles of this type, by other authors, can spend too much time on the sex stuff (eg by KF Breene - great story but the rumpy pumpy is a bit gratuitous and OTT). I find myself fast forwarding through these bits. Shane Silvers seems to get this right -Concentrating on the storyline. Because I go through a lot of books it’s great that they have done these special omnibus versions. I shall wait until they bring out the next three book set. Try it you’ll like it!
