Saleh Sayawala always felt powerless in life. He couldn't stop the other kids from bullying him, he couldn't get the girl of his dreams to see him as anything other than a friend, and, worst of all, he couldn't prevent his older brother from being killed.
But when this life-altering tragedy leaves him with an unexpected kind of power, Saleh must decide how he is going to use it. Will he hunt down the one responsible for taking his brother's life, or will he become the hero his brother always believed he could be?
The Phantom Man is not your typical hero's journey. It is about the struggles of a first generation Indian, Muslim man, as he navigates family pressure and grief, rediscovers his purpose, and ultimately comes to the realization that the strongest power he has, is one he had all along: compassion.
