Well worth the investment of time to read/listen to this series, with an expansive and richly cultured universe. The main characters' growth is both detailed at times, and brief when needed, this might sound counterintuitive, however the series covers nearly two centuries of time. I read the first ?3 books, and have listened to the remainder. The narrator uses many different voices to cover the 'feel' of each individual character, none to be mistaken for another. A great job all around to both Author and Narrator, thankyou for allowing me to experience this story!

This is an entire book of montage-like exposition. The series has always been light on plot, but wow, entire chapters listing synonyms of blood and winter? A very frustrating experience that didn’t get any better no matter how long I stuck with it.
