Publisher's Summary

Most of us have no idea how others see or process their experiences. And that can make relationships hard, whether with intimate partners, with friends, or in our professional lives. Understanding the motivations and dynamics of these different personality types can be the key that unlocks sometimes mystifying behavior in others - and in ourselves.

This book from Suzanne Stabile on the nine Enneagram types and how they behave and experience relationships will guide listeners into deeper insights about themselves, their types, and others' personalities so that they can have healthier, more life-giving relationships. No one is better equipped than the coauthor of The Road Back to You to share the Enneagram's wisdom on how relationships work - or don't.

Why do Sixes seem so intimidated and put off by Eights, who only wish the Sixes would stop mulling things over and take action?

Why do Fives seem so unavailable, even to their closest family and friends, while Twos seem to feel everybody else's feelings but their own and end up irritating people who don't want their help?

How in the world can Fours be so open and loving to you one day and restrained and distant other times?

The Enneagram not only answers these questions but gives us a way out of our usual finger pointing and judging of other people - and finding them wanting, perplexing, or impossible.

Suzanne's generous, sometimes humorous, and always insightful approach reveals why all the types behave as they do. This book offers help in fostering more loving, mature, and compassionate relationships with everyone in our lives.

Excellent primer for beginners and refresher for “experts”

My husband and I are both ordained clergy, and we’ve been studying the Enneagram through Suzanne’s trainings and workshops for three years. It’s an excellent source of spiritual and personal growth in our marriage and our ministries. This book is a great tool for revisiting the basic attributes of each number - but also provides the additional depth of understanding how different numbers relate to one another. We’ve enjoyed the review and benefited greatly from the fresh teachings found in this approachable text. We are currently introducing a new group to the Enneagram for the first time and we are highly recommending this book as they begin their journey toward deeper understanding of self and others.

Definitely buy the book and audiobook! ❤️👏👏

If you want to have better quality relationships with others, this is a great tool to start with. I have both the book and audiobook and I highly recommend you do the same! There are some extra tidbits in the audio version that are just gold and the book is nice so you can go back and study it further later! So great! 🙌

Great read.

Such an awesome experience connecting with yourself, you "hover" instincts and thinking about what affect they have on those around you. I wish more people would take the time to understand the Enneagram. The only thing that prolonged my listening was how even-keeled the narration is – had to listen to smaller excerpts at a time in order to stay focused.

A wonderful lesson on tolerance!

this book helped me to understand myself and others that I love. People do things sometimes that make no sense to me. it helps me understand why, and why they're just doing the best the way they know how.

A must read. Especially for 2’s!

I really needed this book...it gave me so much clarity. As a two, Everything is relational for me, so it makes perfect since that a book from a relationship perspective would resonate so much. I was having trouble typing my fiancé, but after listening to this book I am confident that he is a 5. Knowing our types has lifters a huge weight, allowing us so much room to grow.

Helpful thinking and feeling guidance for an Eight

As an Eight, my life with the Enneagram is significantly richer. Suzanne gives her guidance in clear, actionable (good for the doer) instruction. She serves this up however through thoughtful parable and with heavy does of her Two feeling which is so difficult for me to access.

This book offers an excellent recap on the Nine numbers for experiencing the world - the most concise and clearest I have known.

Subsequently, there is a chapter for each number that tenderly addresses the challenges the number faces in relating to others and gives recommendations for how to optimize your relationships with each number.

Suzanne Stabile is a living authority on this ancient spiritual practice and it is a treat to listen to her read this book in her own voice.

A must own.
