Story
Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek God. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. That's when things started really going wrong. Now I spend my time fighting with swords, battling monsters with my friends, and generally trying to stay alive. This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.

Best Series Ever!
As a 9 year old, I honestly love this story. I’m an advanced reader at my school and I found out about this story when my teacher told me to read it. I’m halfway through the third book now. I would tell my big sister to read it, and my friends. I recommend all new readers to try this series out if you like adventure books.

Wings of Fire
This book goes above and beyond giving human characteristics to dragons. It shows detailed descriptions of everything, from seaweed to landscapes. However, it fails to show very followable characters. They say what the characters were supposed to be like. Grumpy, cheery, and so on. But the author tells how the characters are related to the text a bit too often. I enjoyed this story, overall, well. I might even go on to reading the other books in the series with the cliffhanger ending. You would enjoy it.

Not a fan of the reading, but love the book
This is my dd's review. She is 10 and she loves this series of books so much that she asked me to also buy her the audio. She is not a fan of the reading. She feels like Shannon McManus' voice is too sweet for dragons and that she always sounds the same and doesn't match how the characters are described. I think she has been spoiled by the expertise of Jim Dale and his reading of the Harry Potter series. All this being said, she still listens to it and loves the stories.
