Story
The White Lich has conquered Tanar Atain. Soon, he means to take the entire world. Dante suspects his next target will be Bressel, where the Tanarians have established their court in exile. The only chance to stop the lich will be to forge a fragile alliance between the bitter enemies of three different lands: Tanar Atain, Mallon, and Narashtovik. The city stands on the brink of rebellion. Yet even if Dante, Blays, and Gladdic can unite it, they still might not have the strength to stand against the army of the lich.

Story
Dante and Blays have forced Gladdic from the Collen Basin. But the victory might be only the first battle in a much larger war. With the land on the brink of starvation and politically fractured, Dante and Blays scramble to secure Collen's food, borders, and allies. Before their work is done, rumor arrives from Mallon. The enemy is mustering for another attack. Even if Collen can weather the coming storm, there's no guarantee their independence will last out the year.

Story
Dante Galand has cured the sickness that trapped him on the Plagued Islands. Now it's time to leave. And kill a priest. The target is Gladdic of Bressel. Gladdic, who executed Dante's friend, the pirate Captain Twill. Who all but enslaved the Plagued Islands. And whose visions of empire are far from over. But Gladdic is trained in both ether and nether - and a darker magic than Dante has ever known. He's the most dangerous foe Dante has faced. And if Dante falls, so will an entire kingdom.

Story
Dante and Blays have a single hope of victory: the Spear of Stars, the long-lost weapon that may be capable of killing the lich. There's just one problem. Though they've learned the spear is real, they've also learned the nine parts of the weapon are guarded by the gods themselves. And they have no intention of handing over their prize. Alone in a strange realm, with no friends or allies, and a growing list of enemies, Dante and Blays' task looks doomed. Yet, they're the last line standing between the lich and the destruction of their whole world.

Though the practice of the current day is timid and uninspired, Will needs the knowledge that’s preserved and managed by the college. Story
Cally and Rowe have scoured the demonic wights from Narashtovik. But during the war, Cally learned he can no longer be part of the pacifist Order that raised him to be a sorcerer. The pair has traveled south, seeking the true copy of The Cycle of Arawn - the artifact Cally believes can restore proper rule to Narashtovik. There's a few problems with this plan, though. For one, nobody's seen the true copy in decades. And another, in these lands, possessing a copy of the Cycle is rewarded with a quick trip to the hangman.

Story
The scales have tipped. The battle for Namdhor, the north, and the entire realm of man was a sure victory for the orcs. But they lost. Now, under the rule of a would-be-king, the armies of man fuel the war when they should be bolstering their defenses. Only a few understand that time is against them, yet these few must fight alone if the dawn is to rise over Illian once more. The heroes of the realm have banded together, but they cannot fight side by side. There is only one way they can win, seen by the oldest dragon and preserved inside the broken mind of a ranger.
Publisher's Summary
After a year of fighting across three different lands, Dante and Blays have finally brought Gladdic to justice - and in the process, they've unleashed a horror beyond all reckoning.
The enemy is known as the White Lich. He is ancient. He is immensely powerful. And Gladdic believes he will soon enslave all of Tanar Atain.
Their only chance to defeat him is to strike fast, before the lich has regained his power. But attacking him directly would be suicide. Instead, Gladdic has an alternative. Once upon a time, the lich was human, with a mortal body. Gladdic believes that original body is still out there, hidden somewhere in the swamps.
If they can find it and kill it, then the lich should die with it. But if they fail, the White Lich will rip the souls from the people of Tanar Atain - and turn his gaze on the rest of the world.

The Best I've Read
I'm quite widely read, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the best book I've ever read. The author takes the antagonist of the second book and shows how his world view is destroyed and reformed anew, at which point he moves from antagonist to mentor and companion. The book is conpletely written from the mains characters' points of view, the extraneous secondary character perspectives are removed completely, and the book returns to the primary characters' camraderie that I first fell in love with. If you have gotten this far in the series, you probably know you're in for witty writing and morally complex characters, but this is the best in the series by far.

Good series - slow book
The book seems to float around on long narrative sections that don’t really add to the story. And some of the more pivotal scenes in the book, I found myself thinking, ‘can we just cut to the chase’. I enjoy the series and the characters. He always does a great job making you feel for each character. A decent book but not the strongest of the series.

Brilliant! More Please!!
Its always a worry to me when reading multiple parts of a book because you never know if its going to be as good or warn out, but with that said this book 4 is absolutely amazing, it keeps me on edge for the most part and I'm asking myself constantly through this book "what's going to happen next!!??" I love how the author incorporates Gladic in this story as well as the new characters. As always the author keeps the great sense of humor of the main hero's and in my opionion goes to another level with them. The only thing I'm truly dissapointed in is how long I'm going to have to wait before the next book comes out.

Good, But Not Best In Series
Any additional comments?
I've enjoyed all the Cycle of Arawn and Galand books so far, with some more than others. The Light of Life has been my least favorite book of the two series so far.It was nice to be back on an adventure with Dante and Blayze again, but this book starts out with the two trying to figure out how to kill the White Liche, and ends in pretty much the same place. The book is mostly comprised of Dante and Blayze leading their crew paddling here and there in the swamps, with a break for a few chapters of sitting in the grass trying to learn a new form of magic, and then back to paddling around.
And what ever happened to Rosha? The last three books spent a large portion of each book to build up a secondary character and story for Rosha, only to end anti-climatically with her being sent away and not given even a small part in this book. What was the point of the build up? Perhaps she will turn up later, but it seemed a missed opportunity to bring some more action to this book.
Overall, I'm sure that there were some building blocks laid in this book to help the plot of the final book of the Cycle of Galand, but this book seems to be mostly filler to extend the series. The Narration of Tim Gerald Reynolds was perfect.

Excellent
Yet another enchanting story from the mind of Edward W. Robertson, a writer who is rapidly becoming my favorite author. Not to mention the superb reading of Mr. Reynolds who once again magically brought not only the story but the characters to life. My only regret is the lack of another book in this series to continue reading.

Great nail bitter!
I'm not sure where to begin..
The story picks up right after the previous book and from there forward, all predictions were thrown out the window..
I grew so use to the means and methods Dante and blaze operated by that I could almost always see what was going to happen next or at least envision their means to victory.
I really enjoyed the struggle this book has to offer and the bigger picture it develops compared to the previous books in the Galand series.
I also enjoyed seeing our main characters having to coup with a whole new feeling of hopelessness and dread and the unlikely friendships they develop along the way.
I disliked some of the talking in circles and the slow build up to the action... but overall it was worth it.
I'd recommend anyone who has gotten this far into the series to not stop now! You MUST experience this adventure!

Could have been shorter, but still good.
A lot could have been left out, but i get the idea the author wanted to stretch it over 2 books. i found quite a bit of fluff that had no bearing on the story and did nothing to develop it at all. Now I just want to know how it ends.

incredible narrator
Greatest series I've read. Best narrator I've heard in Audible, no question about it. I often get tired of the similar voices a lot of people do, or the attempts at sounding different coming across at terrible, but this narrator has such a varied range that you can really tell the difference between the characters, and it's not grating to hear. I appreciate the different accents for different races too! the book itself is fantastic as always, although it is frustrating sometimes that each new foe they encounter is all powerful. now more than ever. I would love a chapter that demonstrates how powerful blase and Dante are, like they did back in their home city!

GOOD BOOK
I have over 300 audible titles and I have to say that the narration and performance of this book is one of the best I've heard. It's a compelling universe with a great story and awesome characters. I can't wait for a sequel.

not as good as the others - worth it for the next.
this is an okay book. this okayness makes it by far the worst of the series so far but having finished the book which follows it, is well worth it for the next one. listen to it, enjoy it, but know that the one which follows it more than makes up for its blandness.

Great Series
I have enjoyed this epic ongoing series and like many hope it continues for many more cycles to come. This was a particularly dark episode in the cycle and moved at a splendid pace. However like all his books he does have a tendency to periodically go off at a rambling tangent with what I can only describe as some rather dull passages of over detailed prose. I am not sure if this is entirely the authors fault or if the narrator exacerbates the issue. However it’s easy to forgive such things as the rest of the story makes up for it. The main characters are also at last after many episodes also developing into more credible, mature and dare I say it more interesting personalities. Look forward to the next instalment.

Cycle continues to pick up speed.
Just like the Tour de France this series of stories are full of thrills, spills, plots, subplots and suspense. You won't know until the end who will wear the maillot jaune and be declared the Winner!

Another brilliant book read to perfection
I have loved everyone of the books so far, the characters are brilliant and the performance is by far my favourite.
