Once you get past some of the more saddening parts in the first part of the book it picks up pace and becomes more exciting, I read a similar review and it kept me going. I did pause the audio a few times because the constant urgency in the readers voice could become too much after hours of listening. I listened to this only 2 days after the first book so the stories are a little blurred together for me but overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend you give it a read/ listen, especially if you listened to the first one. I’m going to listen to the prequels whilst I wait for the next one.

I started this series seeking a new book series after iron flames book hangover. Wanted something different and new regarding story line. I thoroughly enjoyed black witch, but the second book just got better! I love the story line and characters. I love that you can’t just predict what’s going to occur! The audio performance was pretty good too! Overall I would highly recommend getting into this series. Keen for book 3

The creativity and world building and magic system are first class and the narration by Julia Whelan is perfect I can’t stop listening.
