About this listen

A Horus Heresy Collection

The Horus Heresy is a civil war on a scale the likes of which the galaxy has never seen before. After the Great Crusade united the disparate worlds of humanity, the very warriors who made it possible turned on each other and tore it apart. This war was not only fought on a galactic scale – it was contested a million times over in brutal battles between former brothers and allies.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

In the aftermath of the Dropsite Massacre, all hell broke loose for those Legions devastated by the treacherous attack. On other worlds, the war between Space Marines takes a savage toll on the baseline humans left to fight in the same theatres. This collection focuses on the ways of war, cultures, and philosophies of the Raven Guard, Salamanders, and Imperial Army – and gives you a view into what makes each force of the Horus Heresy unique.

THE STORY

Corax: Soulforge follows the defiant Raven Guard in the wake of Corax's failed plans to rebuild his Legion after the Dropsite Massacre. Upon a stricken Word Bearers vessel far behind the front lines, they find evidence of a new alliance between the traitors and the forge world of Constanix II. With rumours of terrifying new war machines stalking battlefields across the sector, it is a threat too great to ignore. The primarch Corax must infiltrate the heart of the Mechanicum priesthood on Constanix if he is to win any allies for the war to come, though he will likely be forced to confront the truth of his own mysterious nature along the way…

Nearly a quarter of a million loyal Space Marines lost their lives on Isstvan V. The Dropsite Massacre lasted only a few hours, and yet the Iron Hands, Raven Guard, and Salamanders were slaughtered by those they had once called kin. Scorched Earth joins Ra'stan and Usabius of the XVIII Legion as they leave behind their fellow survivors and strike out into the Urgall Depression. Their mission: to find what, if anything, remains of mighty Vulkan...

As one of the many staging grounds for the forces serving in the Great Crusade, the verdant world of Tallarn has long served as a transfer point for the personnel and war machines of the Imperial Army. The events within Tallarn: Executioner take place after the entire world has been reduced to a toxic wasteland by a deadly virus-bomb attack launched by the battered Iron Warriors fleet. The remnants of the once mighty Jurnian 701st armoured regiment emerge from their underground shelters, and the opening movements of the Battle of Tallarn begin, even as more clandestine powers seek to manipulate events on both sides of the conflict.
