This series started off a bit slow but it was worth staying the course. I enjoyed it.

Slow start but very enjoyable

This was my first book from this author, and I'll think twice before I start another one. Greene has managed to put together a more than decent story of one of my favourite topics, although it ran dangerously parallel to a similar book by another author. EMP, society deteriorates quickly, main character is followed relentlessly by a psychopathic and violent ex-boyfriend...But Greene pulls it off well. Glemboski's narration is incredible across a wide range of characters.
Some of the characters were annoying, but one brought me to the edge of not continuing. The best friend of the main character is the most unbalanced, psychotic, mood-swinging whiner I've ever come across. She explodes at those who disagree with her, and then she abuses them if they agree with her. From 'I understand what you went through' to ' You have no idea what I went through.' She is a person I would not want around during a crisis, and especially not during the fall of humanity. I'm not through yet, but I'm trying. I would still recommend the book and the author, and I would definitely encourage Stacey Glemboski to continue using her amazing voice.
