About this listen

The best-selling book on heart disease, updated with the latest research and clinical findings on high-fat/ketogenic diets, sugar, genetics, and other factors.

Heart disease is the number-one killer. However, traditional heart disease protocols - with their emphasis on lowering cholesterol - have it all wrong. Emerging science is showing that cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart disease and that standard prescriptions for lowering it, such as ineffective low-fat/high-carb diets and serious, side-effect-causing statin drugs, obscure the real causes of heart disease. Even doctors at leading institutions have been misled for years based on creative reporting of research results from pharmaceutical companies intent on supporting the $31-billion-a-year cholesterol-lowering drug industry.

The Great Cholesterol Myth reveals the real culprits of heart disease, including inflammation, fibrinogen, triglycerides, homocysteine, belly fat, triglyceride to HDL ratios, and high glycemic levels.

A hard book to stop listening to.
Lots of eye opening information, and very relevant to so many people.
I’ve been on statins for some years now. And I’ve stopped a couple of times due to information I’ve read previously. But my diabetic doctor and endocrinologist had always advised me to stay on it.
Well not anymore. My cholesterol levels are completely in the normal range as are all my HbA1c levels. I’m done with this drug, and that’s my informed decision.

So much information!

I thought this book was well researched and packed with knowledge. I do get the feeling manny doctors just haven’t the time to research for themselves the wealth of material there is on the big cholesterol debate however these two doctors have done the work for you and present their findings in a simple form.

It’s a must read for all of us who have been given statins as the only option and for all who are just skeptical about modern day medicine.

Ditch the Statins

of all the health books we should be familiar with, this one is right up there. Heaps of great, up to date information. Well read by a very charismatic reader. Made a boring subject fascinating.

Couldn't put it down.
