Publisher's Summary

Verity Jameson's day switches from mundane to disastrous when she runs down a stranger with her car. Fortunately for Vee, she can't kill Death. Death, who just happens to be one of the Four Horsemen, and he's looking for her.

The Four Horsemen spend life preventing the end of the world, not bringing on an apocalypse. As gatekeepers of the portals that exist between the human world and other realms, the team fight to keep the portals closed and the supernatural forces under control. Without their fifth member, the Four Horsemen are losing the battle. Now they've found Verity, and what they tell her goes far beyond the conspiracy theories Vee spends her free time investigating.

A new life with four dark, sexy, and dangerous men fighting demons, vampires, and fae? Not what Vee had planned, but a hell of a lot more interesting than her boring job in tech support. So what happens when the unbreakable bond of the Five takes control in a way none of them expected?

Contains mature themes.

Too short

I really like the premise but the book was way to short. It was just getting into it the story & who Verity is & who she is to the Four Horsemen & it ended. I don't mind a cliffhanger but only if there has been some substance of a story behind it, which this seemed to lack. All the books in the series appear to also be about the same length, I will not be continuing.
I liked the female narrator, the male narrator didn't turn up until halfway through & it just seemed to come out of nowhere & it was a little of putting. A lot of books that have duel narrators have both reading from near the beginning so it makes sense. I wish they had done that with this story or just omitted the second narrator altogether.

Four rescuers

Gosh I was just starting to really get into this story when it ended..
I really like the story line so far, well whats not to like when you've got four hot sounding paranormal guys..
I loved the accents of the narators, Im Australian
that crisp English accent is easy to listen to.

good story

I really enjoyed the story. at times I was confused but caught on quickly.
The female narrator was horrible! frequently you heard her swallowing and taking deep breaths but the terrible part was how she sounded very annoyed reading. it was very disappointing because the story generally is a good book that I would recommend. The Male narrator did a good job. Even though I was immensely disappointed with the female narrator I am looking forward to the next in the series!

Interesting spin on the horsemen

This is an interesting spin on the four horsemen as it brings in Verity, who just happens to be their 5th. She has a strong attraction to each of the four. There's quite a bit of action, but I felt like the characters were not as well developed as they could be. I'm going to continue the series as I want to see if they will be able to grab my attention.

A bit confusing and disjointed at first. Getting clearer as it goes

A young woman, Verity, is meant to be the fifth member of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Her gift is to strengthen the gifts of the other four making them stronger to take on the evil demons determined to take over the earth. One problem is that the horsemen are attracted to her and her to them.

Robotic Narration

Fleur Strange's monotone voice made it impossible to enjoy the book. I was intrigued about the story but after an hour I couldn't take it any more and decided to give up.

Good introduction story

It's a good introduction story with a ending that tugs on your heart. So much conflicting emotions at the end of this book. the question still unanswered, what is her purpose what is she?

Too short

Comparing to other audiobooks this is very short, it’s a shame they haven’t put two together so the cost isn’t so high vs other series
