A Great Debut!
This is a well thought out political thriller that keeps you turning the page. Following an array of characters on all sides of the moral fence, there's plenty of action and thrills to propel the story along, nicely balanced with moments of intrigue and character examination. I think that's what I like best about this book - the antagonists have their reasons for doing what they do, they aren't just 'bad guy' cardboard cut-outs. And the 'lead' Jack Emery isn't made out to be something he's not. He's a reporter whose skills lay in his investigation and writing - he doesn't suddenly turn into an action superhero - and I like that. Most of all, this book makes the reader reflect on their real world and start to question just how close to reality this story actually is - which is a little terrifying! The Foundation had great narration too!

The conspiracy theories continue!
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
If my friend was into an action/conspiracy theory potboilers, then yes. Otherwise, not so much.
Would you recommend The Foundation to your friends? Why or why not?
As above.
Have you listened to any of Jeffrey Kafer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I don't recall listening to this performer in the past, so I don't have a comparable. That said, it was a solid , and actually strong performance, consistent and realistic.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Unlikely. Not my style.
Any additional comments?
I was provided my copy of this audiobook by the author in exchange for this review. This is a relatively solid offering, with interesting underlying concepts and lots of action. Admittedly it is a bit of a stretch from a suspension of disbelief POV, but it does make some interesting points.
Some more editing and trimming is required, but on balance worth the credit, esp. for the type of book it is. Recommended.

Interesting start
I have enjoyed reading a lot of Steve Vincent novels, and I was pleasantly surprised on how well his works transfers over to audio. He is a talented author, and have no problem recommending his books. This book was put together and there were interesting enough characters to care about and who made it worth investing my time in. It's actually a bit frightening to think of the power that certain groups hold in the world to shape events in the manner they were shaped in this book. Looking at what is presently happening in the world at the moment, you can see so many areas where fiction can turn to fact quite easily. Now for book 2

real world stuff,
This was fast moving in some parts and definitely slowed down in others. Some parts seem to be all over the place. A good read lots of characters to intertwine within the storyline. Very political and kind of scary because who knows if his may ever happen one day. The narrator did a very good job

Unbelievable Thriller
The author of this story is new to me, while the narrator is one of my favorite male narrators for romance and action stories. Parts of this book I absolutely loved and other parts not so much. My review is not a synopsis of the book, rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. I think one of the biggest unrealistic elements of the story was the power of the foundation, and the extents they would go to.

An interesting read
This one it's good, at the beginning was a little slow for everything I have read from the author so far or did felt super slow I was even debating leaving it since it wasn't getting anything for me, and then bum everything happened almost at once. Jack it's very gritty and resourceful being a reporter and all, can't say I like him better than the spy on the other series, but he was cool. Overall it was an amazing ride the one we had with Jack at this time, let's see what happens later on with him.

Politics and Murder
When hard drinking journalist Jack Emery's wife is killed he makes it his mission to find the killer. He is led to a rogue political faction that wants to take over America by starting a war in Asia. Revenge is a powerful tool, especially in the hands of a free press. Although this is fiction, some of the behind the scenes maneuvers ring true. I was gifted this from the author.

Excellent thriller.
The Foundation is a fast-paced, action-packed, conspiracy thriller. Steve Vincent weaves a complex tale of political ambition/corruption that brings the US/China to the brink of all out war with journalist Jack Emery caught up in the middle. I have to say I enjoyed the heck out of this book. Excellent story, plenty of action, and a number of plot twists kept me thoroughly entertained from start to finish. This would make a heck of an film or mini series. As always, Jeffrey Kafer delivers a spectacular performance. The man never disappoints. Great foundation to a series!!
I really enjoyed this book. It seemed slow to start with but soon had me hooked. It needed the slow start as there was a number of characters to set up, that play major parts in the story and it was nice that you didn't just get the perspective of the main character. So you knew why the baddies where doing what they did. It's a scary thought but with the world like it is you could easily see it happening. The eight hour story just flew by and was helped by the narrator, who was right for the part.

A great story, well written with great plot turns and full of intrigue! Along with a great narrator to boot! Ok, the accents could use a little perfecting, but they don’t detract anything from the story! Hope there’s more of this to come! This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

Excellent modern day thriller. Action packed with great characters. The Foundation plans to make America great again, and is willing to start World War III to make it happen. They weren't counting on a particularly tenacious reporter.
