At seven, Brandon was a skateboard prodigy. By the time he was fourteen, he was living the dream. Discovered by skate legends Bucky Lasek and Tony Hawk. Touring the US with the elite Powell-Peralta team. Signing autographs and appearing in films and magazines. Brandon had it all. Then he got hooked on heroin. Soon he was living a down-and-out life in a garage, begging for change, and hustling to score his next fix. He stole from his family and friends. Story
That's What Junkies Do is a brutally honest, often dark journey of one man's struggle with alcoholism and drug addiction. The story starts innocently enough in 1980's Brooklyn, NY, with a young boy, Thomas Figlioli, making a bad choice so he could gain the respect of a group of kids he looked up to and admired. Alcohol gives him the courage to be the person he always wanted to be. His fear and insecurity leaves and his lifelong struggle begins. When thoughts of ending it all become a better choice than living how he is, Thomas finally asks for help.

Tom Segura is known for his twisted takes and irreverent comedic voice. But after a few years of crazy tours and churning out podcasts weekly, all while parenting two young children, he desperately needs a second to himself. It’s not that he hates his friends and family — he’s not a monster — he’s just beat, which is why his son’s (ruthless) first full sentence, “I’d like to play alone, please,” has since become his mantra.

5/5 Jeans!
- By Jessica Francis on 15-06-2022
Publisher's Summary
USA Today best-selling book!
Mike Majlak was a 17-year-old from a loving middle-class family in Milford, Connecticut, when he got caught up in the opioid epidemic that swept the nation. For close to a decade thereafter, his life was a wasteland of darkness and despair. While his peers were graduating from college, buying homes, getting married, having kids, and leading normal lives, Mike was snorting Oxycontin, climbing out of cars at gunpoint, and burying his childhood friends.
Unable to escape the noose of addiction, he eventually lost the trust and support of everyone who had ever loved him. Alone, with nothing but drugs to keep him company, darkness closed in, and the light inside him - the last flicker of hope - began to dim. His dreams, potential, and future were all being devoured by a relentless addiction too powerful to fight.
Despair filled him as he realized he wasn't going to survive. Somehow, he did. He not only survived, he thrived. Now, he's a social media personality with millions of followers and an entrepreneur, marketer, podcaster, YouTuber, and author who hopes to use his voice to shine a light for those whose own lights have grown dim. This is his story.

Very Well written and truthful!
This book has by far taken the lead for anything I have read/listen to so truthful and heart felt. And amazing story of mikes insane, scary, painful but amazing life this story will change people’s lives with out a doubt. he has done and amazing thing here and can not wait to see where he takes it. This book will leave you not wanted to stop listing so be prepared for a long sitting. Ps having your own voice in there is a game changer and everyone voice in the letters very very well done.
To Mike Majlak and Riley j. Ford this book has opened my eyes from when I had a light ( compared to mike ) addiction at a younger age to how much the points you make in this book are 100% spot on and how family will help you even if you Think there not.
Anyway this is going to change lives and save many people and for that I thank you.

Life changing!
I absolutely loved it! It is a truly remarkable story of dealing with mental health and addiction. Mikes perseverance to rewrite some very dark times of his past, stories that most would deep burried in the past, he decided to open to the world so that we can see the damaging effect drugs can have on anyone. This story isn't just for addicts or recovering addicts, but also for those who struggle with mental health or those who struggle for a purpose in life. I could not recommend this book more.
