As a sci-fi author with a hit TV show, I have a few ideas about what alien invaders are supposed to look like. In my stories, they’re technologically advanced monsters, with tentacles, and no faces. Turns out I was right about the technology. And about how angry they’d be. But the way they look is more terrifying than even I could have imagined. They look exactly like us. Because they are us.

Tight, well written and beautifully Narrated!
I went into this audio book without any prior knowledge of the author or narrator, but I figured that it was high time I dove into another Space Opera, and possibly a military Space Opera novel at that... and boy was I surprised by what I got! This book is so different from the same-old, same-old... and I absolutely loved it! Yes, it's a near-future dystopian novel, and yes it's a first-contact situation with Spaceships, but that's where the similarities end, with nothing else familiar, or even expected!
I seriously loved how Sean Robins wove his dystopian world (and freedom fighters) into a Scifi political-drama... and this is how our freedom fighters found themselves, inducted into not only saving the world and human race from themselves, but from alien conquerors too!
The plot is so well written, so tightly woven, and so beautifully narrated, you'll find yourself glued into your headset! The story has great characters, plenty of pop-cultural references, wit, and lots of real laugh-out-loud moments! Plus, I found all the action that I could've ever wanted. Crimson Deathbringer will even make you forget about getting a goodnight's sleep! It's Perfect!
So do yourself a favor and grab the audiobook because CJ Grey is raring to give a great performance and transport you into Sean Robins future world!

A Lot of Fun!
Sean Robins has created a truly original sci-fi series here, with plenty of action and laughs to go around. Every time I thought I knew where this was going, it changed course. C.J. Grey does a fantastic job of bringing the voices to life.

A very good book!
I liked this book a lot. I had been given the first in the series to read as a gift. I will get the rest of the series for sure! The Alien's were humorous as well and characters were interesting. I understood most of the movies referenced, but I've been around "the block" a couple of times. if you enjoy a good sci-fi adventure with well done production....get this. Well done!

Captivating!
More than a Star Wars/Star Trek hybrid, The Crimson Deathbringer is a galactic space race for control of Earth, now under dictatorial control. The resistance is making advances, but their number is small and rather ineffective, and the Xortaags decide to defeat and take control of Earth, with the Voice of God and their Crimson Deathbringers. There had been such hope for Earth in 2077. The first president of the world had been elected and the entire planet rejoiced. Humanity had finally put its destructive tendencies aside, and was ready to unleash a glorious era of peace, cooperation, advancement and economic development. Within the year, everything imploded with the appointment of Graham Zheng, an influential American general of Chinese descent, who murdered the president and took power, declaring himself the ruler of Earth. With humor, drama, unbearable sadness and hope, this story is an enjoyable and fascinating trip to another world called Earth! The narration is impeccably done by C. J. Grey, with a dynamic voice, good range and the ability to give each character a distinct personality.

Very entertaining
Really enjoyed the classic movie one liners. Solid story with enjoyable twists great character building and wonderful storytelling. Wasn’t a fan of the narrator at first but then he grew on me. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if there was a male and female narrator, due to the amount of characters. Already looking forward to starting book number two.

This books was great and I'm hooked
I have to say the ability for this author to tell a story has got me hooked. I fell in love with all the characters and it became a goal to find out what happened. The narrator brought the characters to life and not only told the story but had me forgetting I was listening to a book. If you like Sci-Fi that isn't so far out there it can't be real this is a great story for you. It all could happen, and might happen. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review and I loved every bit of it.

Overall, it was a great listen. The narrator was good enough that I'll find other books that he's read. Storyline was solid but didn't wow me. It left some serious potential for the rest in the series and I'll be buying them soon.

What a great audiobook
This is the first time I’ve listened and read a book in this genre and I’m amazed at how good it was. I thoroughly enjoyed listening and reading this book, the character building was great and the story itself goes along at a decent pace.
I’ve just purchased book 2 so I can carry on the journey Sean wrote and see how the characters are doing.

Not Your typical Sci-Fi Story
This story is set between an earthly villainous ruler and 'The Resistance', and two waring alien species. The main characters are very likable with their eclectic personalities and special quirks which keep your attention throughout the book. They are interesting and you care what happens to them. The author clearly has a love affair with Sci-Fi, the book is rich with quotes from well known TV shows and movies that will make you chuckle along as you listen. If you are a Star Trek fanboy/girl this book will certainly be a lot of fun for you. In fact a lot of TV and film nerds will be happy with this. Overall this book was well thought out and well written, smoothly transitioning back and forth between the strategies of The Resistance and antagonistic storylines. This is a fun read and has a different take on an alien invasion that I've not come across in other literature.
I was given a copy of this book for free of my own choosing and have voluntarily left this review.
