About this listen

Performed with duet narration by Connor Crais and Erin Mallon!

A forbidden romance with my brother’s hockey teammate wasn’t on my to-do list when I moved across the country…

Neither was getting locked out of a friend’s place wearing next to nothing.

Or spending the night with the sexy stranger who rescues me.

But I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone so getting out of the rest of my clothes with him seems like a good way to start.

In the morning, I learn the filthy-mouthed man with the talented hands is not only the hotshot new hockey player on my brother’s team: he’s also–wait for it–my brand new roommate.

I’m a good student turned good librarian. A rule-follower. I’m not the kind of girl who does complicated flings. So we agree to another rule: friends-only.

It’s not easy though. Wes is bossy, flirty and generous.

He gives me rides to work.

Pitches in at my library’s fundraiser.

Takes care of me when I get hurt.

And looks at me like I’m the only one.

Soon, I’m falling hard for my brother’s teammate.

Especially when Wes comes to my door and tells me exactly how he’d like to break our rules.

Every single one.

That is a duet and I loved it so much. It’s not like the other books where the girl makes up a male voice and vice versa. Loooove it

That is a duet

This was underwhelming. I enjoy her books and u enjoyed this one. Sort of. It was an easy read with a bit of spice but same story and I’m a bit over how quickly things get resolved in her books. Struggled with the narrators.

Underwhelming

I've listened to a lot in this genre, both by this author and others - I like relatable characters & a (mostly) believable storyline, some intimate scenes, but nothing too crude or out-there. This story ticked the boxes, and THE NARRATORS! Oh my goodness, Erin Mallon & Connir Crais have the best voices, tone, timing.. With some other narrators, I feel this story would have come across differently and I wouldn't have liked it, but these two made it 👌

Absolutely loved this one!

Characters: Josie & Wesley
Tropes: Teammates sister, professional hockey, ons, roommates
Narrator (s): Erin Mallon & Connor Crais

I started The Boyfriend Goal by Lauren Blakely back in January, but life threw me some unexpected curveballs and I had to temporarily step away from it. Even though I had to DNF it for a while, the story stayed with me—and I knew I’d come back to it. And I’m so glad I did.

The heroine: Josie is a compelling and relatable heroine who embodies both warmth and resilience. Having relocated from the East Coast to San Francisco for a three-month library contract

The Hero: Wes Bryant is a professional hockey player for the Sea Dogs, known for his charm, confidence, and a touch of rebelliousness. At first glance, he embodies the quintessential athlete—flirty, bossy, and generous. However, beneath this exterior lies a man with a golden heart and a deep capacity for care and commitment.

The Story: When Josie moves to San Francisco for a librarian position she uses this fresh start as the perfect opportunity to begin her late aunt's "Top Ten Things I Have Never Regretted" list. First item on that list "Have a one-night stand with a sexy stranger". Insert Wes, the tall and handsome guy who rescues her from wondering the streets of San Francisco in nothing but an oversized tee and her slippers by pretending to be her boyfriend. The two instantly have chemistry and it doesn't take much convincing for Wes to help Josie with the number one item on her list. Their one-night stand turns into so much more when Josie finds out that Wes plays hockey with her brother and has volunteered to let her live with him when her previous housing fell through.

I loved The Boyfriend Goal. The connection between Josie and Wes was palpable. They both helped each other overcome their issues with their parents and they truly fought for each other. I also loved the friendship Josie had with her girlfriends! And the spice was spicing.

The narration was fabulous! I mean Connor Crais + Erin Mallon = Perfection! Wes is fun and flirty but he also had a vulnerable side and Connor brought
that to life flawlessly. Josie was really beginning to find her true self and step out of her comfort zone and Erin did a great job capturing that with her performance. Plus Erin does witty inner monologue like no other. I definitely recommend checking out the audio I really loved it!

Josie and Wes 🏒📚

UH, this one stole my heart from the moment he stepped in and lied about being her boyfriend!

As always, hockey is my kryptonite, and Lauren delivered as always.

Josie just arrived in San Fran. She locks herself out of her apartment, and finds herself outside a gallery where her roomie works but being kept out by the snobby artist - and then along comes Wes, who happens to be the son of the man the snobby artist is dating - its a whole thing, but basically he saves her and buys her clothes and they have ice cream and a steaming hot one night stand.

But then... LOVE a plot twist. not gonna spoil it. But, lets just say, all the tropes we love are here!

All my fave tropes :)
