Publisher's Summary

As a guild bartender, I can handle pretty much anything - mages, sorcerers, witches, the occasional demon. But show me anything family-related and I'd rather run for the hills. It doesn't even have to be my family.

So I have no idea why I thought spending the holidays with Aaron's mom and pop was a good idea.

Meeting his famous parents is already terrifying enough, but I've got a bigger problem. Students of his family's renowned mage academy are being attacked on the grounds - and somehow no one has seen a single assailant? Unexplained tracks litter the nearby woods, rumors of forbidden alchemy are circulating the campus...and Ezra has been acting strangely since we arrived.

Something deadly is brewing in the shadow of Sinclair Academy, and the longer we take to uncover it, the more dangerous it becomes. But no matter the risk, we'll protect the students.

And Aaron's parents too, I suppose. If we have to.

Make sure to check out the companion series, The Guild Codex: Demonized, available now, and The Guild Codex: Warped, coauthored by Rob Jacobsen.

Still good, but getting predictable.

Following the same story of Tori and her three hot male magic besties through their adventures.
The narration is top shelf.
This story became a little predictable and no real plot twists. I thought that an M4 would have been a better gift than a paintball gun in this situation.
A decent lead up to future plot developments.
You'll listen to this because you're hooked on the series anyway.
Enjoy!!

A dissapointing new chapter

Not up to the standards of earlier books. Weaker writing, less interesting & more stereotyped plot. I think quality over quantity would be a better rule for Annette when writing these books. There are 2 key plot points that are worth knowing as we continue on to the next book, but perhaps those can be caught up on by reading an external quick book summary. Still, there remains some pleasant humour and friendly banter which was enjoyable.

Fantastic series

I stumbled across the first book in this series and was totally hooked. Since then I’ve anxiously waited for each new audible book to come out. The author is wonderful and the narrator is one of my favorites. Trust me, if you enjoy paranormal books, this is a series not to be missed!

Next one please

This book was better than the last one and quite frankly I have to know if the amulet will work or not. I know the next book is in print right now but I have to have the audio book please. This book is great I love the backstory on Aron and the incorporation of werewolves into the book with very unique take on them.

Better and Better

The standalone stories are intriguing and unfolding an interesting world, the story arc for Guild Codex: Spellbound takes an emotional turn during this one and I am already dying for the next title. I also cannot wait to see how the two series in the Guild Codex intertwine. Robin was briefly seen here, but Tori and the mages stepped away from the Guild for this exciting episode.

The friendship continues

Although I love the action in the book. I would've liked to see the romance progress more. These books tend to be too short like a series I have to wait months to see another episode of. Overall good story

Filler in a good series

I really enjoy this series but this book felt like filler. The main plot revolved around new or minor side characters that I really didn't care about at all, with a side of the boys squabbling and the romance headed for the guy I am least interested in.
It's obvious the Bigger Plot is going to be Ezra-centric for this series which I think is a pity, since I don't see his appeal, and the foreshadowing around it bugs me.
Tori, please go back to walloping bad guys with your umbrella and stealing their magical artifacts!

Such a great novel

As always I love all the Guild books and can’t wait for more. This book really seems to be ramping up the over arching story line leading to a big finish of this story line. I really enjoy the narration, I thing the actor does a great job.

cotton candy for your brain

Self-indulgent. Utter fantasy and it's very fun. If you don't want to think too hard but are simply looking for escapism this is the book. YA romance but if you're looking for pure fun this is an easy, stress free, listen.

Bloody brilliant!!

Another brilliant book from an amazing author. This certainly packed a punch. The further we get into this series, the better it becomes. The characters and their individual storylines are all coming together and it makes you want to read and read until you are finally finished then you feel bereft! Straight away I started the next one. It leaves you always wanting more! 5 stars without a doubt!

Great

Wasn't as fast paced as the previous books but it was just as good.

Someone or something is attacking students on the grounds of Aaron's parents school, where our quartet and Sin have headed for the Christmas holidays.

Great book and brilliant narration.

more of the same good stuff

this book focuses inn on the 4 main characters. I'd call it filler if it wasn't good as the plot advances very little but rather focuses on character development
