Publisher's Summary

You know that squirmy sensation in your gut when you have no idea what you're doing and you're about to screw everything up?

Yeah, that feeling.

I thought I was a good judge of character, but recent events proved me very wrong. Now, in a brilliant demonstration of my newfound caution, I'm putting all my faith in a demon - a demon who's tried to kill me before. The squirmy feeling is making sense, right?

Unfortunately, I don't have any other options. Ezra's time is almost up, which means I need answers and I need them fast. So it's time to toughen up, pack my gear, and find me one of the most illegal, reviled, and scarce mythics out there: a demon-mage summoner.

And all I have to do is follow a demon's instructions on where to look. How could that go wrong?

Make sure to check out the companion series, The Guild Codex: Demonized, available now, and The Guild Codex: Warped, coauthored by Rob Jacobsen, available summer 2020.

Worth the wait for the audio book.

Fun fantastic story, straight into the action that occurs days after the last story. Preparing us for the final book. Well read as usual. Took me a while to get used to Ezra’s voice, but all good after just first chapter.

LOVE!!

So many answers to many questions, I can’t wait for the last book! The performance is great as always, I must admit the voice for Ezra took me by surprise and I needed to get used to it. I would have preferred it not to be a different voice. Love the story as always and what an ending! I can’t wait for the next book and will be sad to see it all end

Tori is not my favorite character but...

This author is one of my absolute favorites but I cannot stand Tori. she is like a character from Shameless. she continues to make horrible choices and then has the audacity to be surprised when things go bad because of them. Not to mention she wants to be included in the magical world so bad but when it comes to actually making an effort to know more she acts like shes above it. Shes really judgmental and jealous when it comes to other women and is downright nosey (and pushy) when it comes to Kai and his family affairs. I continue to listen to the series because I do love alllll the other characters and I'm too deeply entrenched in the drama to quit now, how ever I'm really glad there is only one more book in her POV because I don't think I can handle her immaturity much longer. Rant over.

Dragging on this story line a little too long

I was really looking forward to this book, to see what would become of Ezra. This book seemed shorter than most, didnt seem to have the depth of the others and gave no real satisfaction at the end. We've had 2 books now essentially with the same driving conflict. It's time to wrap it up so we can move on to something else.

great series

I love the entire series. though we could have done without the male voice for Ezra with his thoughts. it was out of place and just didn't fit

Another Great Installment!!

I loved this book don't get me wrong, but I found Ezra's POV severely disappointing. I was SO excited thinking I'd get to see the events Robin and Ezra shared from Ezra's POV... I know it makes sense that if this book originally came first, then the author wouldn't want to give away too much... but Ezra's parts were primarily all in his head, and only slightly more than boring.

Excellent

Another winner by Annette Marie. I adore this series and haven’t been bored by a single one. They keep your interest and don’t drag.

Fun listen

These books are fun to listen to. I loved both narrators. Not mind blowing, but easy listen and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Whens the next book

This book was awesome. I will say I was worried about the dual narrarators which is new for this book series but it was really well done and I liked Ezra's perspective.

Loved the book not the second narrator

I loved the story, this being one of the only book series that can make me cry with/for the characters. But bringing in a second narrator was a big mistake, as suddenly there was new voices for all the characters in those few chapters. Which made them feel like different characters than what you have gotten to know from the rest of the series.

Hooked

I'm so hooked on this series, and I'm not even sure what to write for a review. Entertaining and fast-paced, I really enjoy the characters and how they interact, and Cris is spot-on with the narration!

Disappointed

I big fan of Annette Marie and binged read all the books in this series. Unfortunately, I am a bit disappointed with this one. The plot could be resumed in few chapters really... Cris Dukehart and Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job :) Love Ezra's voice
