Publisher's Summary

He wants to return to Preor and she wants a job, but you don't always get what you want.

Lana Cooper is down to her last hundred dollars, has no job, and her clunker of a car has finally clunked out. How has her life become such a cluster of horribleness? Oh, right. A guy. Only she doesn't get a chance to beg for a job. Nope, one walk along the beach changes everything. Oh, she has a job now...as the mate to a hot, hunky Preor dragon male.

Taulan sen Pavon is anxious to return to his home on Preor. Yes, he'd journeyed to Earth in hopes of finding a human mate, but now...now he would like to heal in the privacy of his aerie. Wings destroyed and body damaged by an explosion, he has no desire to watch others find joy with their mates while he remains unworthy and alone on a ship filled with thousands. But then he finds Lana. Lana with her alluring smile, sparkling eyes, luscious body, and whose mere presence initiates the Knowing.

Can he live long enough to claim her? Can she see past her father's prejudice to love him? Both questions are pointless because there are still Preor who despise the joining of humans and dragons. They will stop at nothing to drive a wedge between the races. Including murder.

Enjoyed

I enjoyed reading this book. But I have listen to it's narration several time already. The actors draw you in and really bring the story to life. They've made me want to get the other narration for this series.

No flying dragons!

spoiler alert but needs to be said! So far I have listened to two books in this series and the the Dragon shifter Hero looses the use of his wings and can no longer be in Dragon form. The story would be more entertaining and magical if the dragons could shift, fly and meet the expectations of the listener. It is sad that it cripples the HEA. IMO, I want to see healthy, happy, manly DRAGONS...not damaged ones that lose their Dragon and abilities.

A Step Up from the First

I thought the first book in this series was...ok. It wasn't my favorite, but it was good. Taulan has bought me into the series and I am definitely picking up the next book. Taulan is a dragon with no wings, a male who feels he has nothing to offer because of his physical shortcoming. He's strong, just moody enough, and a great male lead in the book. My only complaint is that the books are pretty short, they leave me wanting more, but maybe that's a good thing. It's a fun, light listen. Worth the cost for a few hours of fun.

LOVE...

I really, really enjoyed this addition to this series. I even enjoyed it a bit more than the first. Taulan survived a horrific attack, one in which he fought to protect those on his ship, his fellow warriors. Due to his actions, and those of his attackers, he lost his wings. A dragon without his wings feels as though they are worthless. Right at the moments when he made the decision to give up everything and take his last flight, he meets Lana. Lana Cooper (Coburn) is a human on the run from her abusive ex. She applies to get a job working for the Ujal. Walking along the beach, waiting for her interview, she sees a toddler running into the ocean while her adult guardian just watches. Once she hears the child cry for help she cusses the man and run into the waves to help her. Once this all happens, it comes to the attention of the Ujal royal family that she was using a fake name and they assumed she was there to harm one of them or kidnap the princess. All of which were false of course, but she had no other proof than her word. Taulan knew who she was the moment he saw her as the 'Knowing' instantly bombarded him. That's as much of the story that I'm gonna reveal, but I really loved Lana's first reaction to the 'Knowing'. She said, "What is that in my head. The 'Knowing'. What the hell is the 'Knowing'." Classic human female reaction. These two spend most of their story aboard the Preor ship in space. I won't tell you why, but I loved getting a chance to learn more about the Preor warriors and their customs. The author did a really good job writing this story in a way that give you enough details to keep you interested while, simultaneously, introducing new things for the next book to explore. The narrators did a really good job performing the story. They brought it to a new level of awesome. Well done to both the author and the narrators. 5*s all around.

worth is in the eyes of the beholder

Two souls that have broken from past traumas have no sense of their worth but the knowing brings them together to find the happiness they crave. The preyor dragon series continues with sexy dragons that are hot in more ways than one.

Performance was great

Loved the narration, the narrator's really brought the book to life. Storyline was okay, honestly I wish we had more, more time for the pair of them to grow into each other, more time for loving. The overall storyline was fine and enjoyable, I think I wanted to one up the 1st book and I felt the 2nd book was on the same frequency as the 1st.
