Summary
Never let them discover I’m an omega.
Never let them discover I’m their mate.
Bitten and bonded against my will, I’ve become a ransom for the celebrity alphas I scent matched. They're my last chance at freedom, and I have to make them fall for me before it’s too late.
Sent into their home disguised as a Sweetheart—a beta companion for aggressive alphas without an omega—I’m forced to keep my status secret until they fall for me, or until my heat arrives. But I grew up obsessed with the Crimson Fury Pack; they aren’t just smoking hot celebrity actors, they’re kind and generous. I know I can convince them to save me.
Only, once in their home, I learn all too fast that my mates are nothing like they appear in interviews and magazines…What will they do when they learn the truth about the beta Sweetheart in their home...?
This is a bully omegaverse, MFMMM why choose with dark themes. HEA guaranteed.
This duet takes place in the PoisonVerse but is a standalone story and can be enjoyed independently.

I liked how different the MMCs were and how nothing went smoothly.
This book ended on a cliffhanger, and I went straight onto book 2 to see what happened.
I read on Kindle and read along on Audible.
Great world building

This is exactly the kind of omegaverse I want more of on audio.
Sweetheart Part 1 by Marie Mackay leans darker, with a complex plot and a pack dynamic that actually feels layered rather than formulaic. It is not softened or simplified, which makes the emotional payoff much stronger.
Vex is the heart of the story. She is vulnerable but never passive, and there is a quiet resilience in her that makes her journey compelling to listen to. The contrast between her trauma and the small moments of happiness she finds adds a lot of emotional weight.
The pack is where this really shines. Four alphas who are all very different. Drake brings care and warmth, while Love, Ebony and Rook are much harsher, each shaped by their own motivations. Ebony stood out the most for me. His detached, almost emotionless nature shifting into something more was genuinely fascinating to follow.
From an audio perspective, Alyssa Rogge is perfectly cast as Vex. Her soft, unique voice captures both vulnerability and strength in a way that feels very natural. Mark Harriets balances this well with a darker tone that suits the alphas.
The narration adds depth without overpowering the story, which makes it an easy and immersive listen.
The only small drawbacks were the POV shifts within chapters, which could feel a little abrupt in audio, and moments where the writing felt slightly stop start rather than flowing seamlessly between scenes. Minor issues overall, but noticeable in an audio format.
