I absolutely adore this latest series in the Masters & Mercenaries universe - seeing the kids of the parents we love now going through their own troubles is just amazing. I love that Lexi Blake is able to create this world that feels so real - with characters that seem like a part of the family. The overarching mystery heats up in the third book in the series, with the second throuple in the M&M world at the heart of it. Tristan, Carys & Aidan have been together since they were practically babies and their love and relationship seemed easy ... until their chosen careers force them apart literally and this causes fractures in their relationship. I love all the callbacks to things that have happened in previous books - and despite that, this story still feels complete new and unique. We learn more about our bad guy, we see our throuple forced together and having to deal with their issues and we get a whole lot of sarcasm to boot (thanks Ian & Adam!). Another fabulous addition to this world - I can't wait to read the next book.

Like always, Ryan West does an amazing job narrating this book. The M&M world is just as much Ryan's as it is Lexi's (and she would agree) and I always love listening to Ryan bring these amazing stories to life.

Aidan could top Carys, but he topped them both...

This author can tell a love story like no other. So much feeling and love. Add intrigue into it and your blood is pumping with more than love. Amazing read. Love that all the gang is included. One big happy family.
Narration is always amazing with Ryan.
