Swedish Phase 1, Units 6-10 build on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Swedish. This course teaches the rikssvenska (or Standard Swedish) dialect, spoken in and around the capital region of Stockholm. The first ten Units of Pimsleur's 30-Unit Swedish Comprehensive Program, replaces the Compact Swedish.

Critic Reviews

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." ( AudioFile magazine)

Very Effective Instructional Book

Very well done. This is the absolute most effective instructional book I've ever had. I'm very pleased at the progress I've made. Once I'm done with this course, I'm going to learn another language with the Pimsleur method.

10 hours and I can converse in Swedish!!

I absolutely love and can recommend this language course. I do the 25-30 min lessons whilst cooking or walking the dog. The pronunciation help is great and my Swedish friend says my pronunciation is perfect ☺. I usually do each lesson at least twice then move on. I already have brought the next set of lessons. If you want to learn a language this is an excellent way to do it!

Complex but interesting new sentences

a great follow up to the first 5 lessons, I've spoken to a few Swedish people using the lessons taught which was a fun experience.
