Publisher's Summary

This audio edition includes guided meditation exercises from the book and an exclusive 20-minute Stress Less Guided Meditation at the end of the audiobook.

Foreword by Mark Hyman, MD. Preface by Andrew Huberman, PhD.

In Stress Less, Accomplish More Emily Fletcher shares an ancient meditation technique designed for busy lives. The focus of the practice is stress relief, mental clarity and improved productivity, so it's perfect for the fast pace of modern life. This style of meditation was developed specifically for people with a lot of demands on their time - those with busy jobs, lives and families - and so it has been designed to work anywhere, anytime. All you need is somewhere to sit, a little training and a few minutes to yourself.

Throughout the audiobook, Emily explains what meditation is, how you do it and the many exciting ways that it can change your life. Stress Less, Accomplish More destigmatises meditation for the average person, making it attractive, understandable and easy to implement for all. This audiobook has a very simple message: do less - without the stress - and accomplish more.

Emily Fletcher is a leading expert in meditation for high performance and has taught meditation to executives at global corporations like Google, Barclays and Viacom as well as busy parents, NBA players, Oscar winners, entrepreneurs and everyone in between.

About Z technique

if your looking to listen to chapters on how meditation improved life, then this is a great book. I really think this book is a sales pitch for a meditation technique. I am half way through the book and only given tit bits on how to use the Z technique. I found this book boring.

*no tools included

I get that this is popular, but after 5 chapter of basically indoctrination theory put in practice there’s maybe 30 mins of telling you how to do the Z technique. So thanks, but I’m not really interested in a 5 hour sales pitch for the three M’s. I came to learn how to be less stressed, but in the 3 real days I listened to this book, there were only 2x2min instructions, in 4x1 hour chapters, on how to actually do any of the three M’s. You book actively tells people to make meditation, mindfulness and manifesting part of their daily routine, but you don’t seemingly include any practice in your chapters.

The promise you make in your first chapter about giving people the tools to actually do Meditation, Mindfulness and Manifestation, is seemingly left unfulfilled as at chapter 5, almost 5 hours in. So, at 5 hours in and no tools described, but a very long sales pitch for your website now in my mind, I feel like you’ve wasted my time and broken your promise of providing tools. So how am I going to justify another 5 hours?

I finally get it...

I have tried meditating many times over the years but this is the first time I’ve come across someone who explains it in plain English and removes the spiritual/religious context from the practice. Impatient? Want to know the technique? Go to Chapter 8, but please ensure you listen to the other chapters to truly gain the most from this book. Am recommending this to friends and family. Thanks Emily.

What you’ll get out of this book.

I’m not sure why the bad reviews saying this book doesn’t teach you meditation, when it actually does?
1) Emily starts off with a lot of mindset Techniques which really helped me understand not only the benefits but also when my mind wanders through a meditation practice that it’s okay and what to do to centre my thoughts again.
2) she then takes you through the 3M’s of the meditation practice. I found this the most helpful to help me understand the phases of going into meditation and coming out of. I feel like finally I’m mediating for the first time.
3) Finally she finishes off with a couple of different guided meditations at the end of the audiobook.

Practical, fascinating and so simple!!!

This book has changed my life. Tried so many times to meditate but finally found an easy fool proof practice that I am actually continuing! Emily explains all the science behind stress and its impacts/affects is such a simple way and takes ypu through the actual practice of how to do the meditations. She even provides examples of correct and incorrect techniques which was the lightbulb moment for me as to HOW to actually put this in to practice. Cannot recommend this highly enough. I have gifted this book to so many of my friends and family now.

A meditation infomercial

I knew this was a book about meditation and it’s benefits in reducing stress. But the book was more like a meditation infomercial. The author endlessly tried to convince the reader throughout the book that meditation is beneficial. It was a bit overkill.

Emily is a powerhouse

Emily had me engaged from the word go.
Too often audiobooks are narrated by other individuals... this is coming from the source and her passion and belief is infectious.

I cannot wait to put what I’ve learned into practice.

Thank you for your teachings.

Amazing!!

Absolutely loved listening to Stress Less and Accomplish More. I came across Emily Fletcher through another company as I was looking for tools to help heal my body. I've heard of other meditation techniques and practices, but when I sampled a taster of one of Emily's exercises online, it deeply resonated with my soul and body. Stress Less and Accomplish More is exactly what I require in this time of my life. It has helped me to feel less tense, feel more relaxed, and feel internally more happy despite what's going on in my external environment.

What I love about it is it's simple and easy to follow, and definitely designed to implement into any modern day, busy lifestyle. This is something I will be continuing to practise as part of my health and healing, and will be sharing with my clients too. I love this concept that I bought both the audio and the book! I encourage everyone to read and listen to this book. Do the exercises and open your heart, and mind to experience what your body needs....to have less stress. Enjoy xx

Could be a LOT shorter for content provided

So I'm aware of Emily Fletcher, seen her on many youtube videos and podcast interviews etc and like her. I thought this book would give some clear instruction in the meditation she recommends and it does, but the actual guidance and instruction compared to the amount of sales fluff for her online course is out of balance. It does feel like listening to someone reading out a very very long sales page for an online course. Really, I get meditation is good for you, but lots of testimonials and constant listing of benefits gets a bit hard work. The guidance and instruction take some time to arrive (mid-book) sandwiched between selling the merits of meditation and the merits of the online training. It seems the meditation in this book is useful (I believe you Emily!) but the upsell to the online course is heavy. Especially if you also sign up for the book bonuses - which then gives you lots more upsell emails. Anyone interested in internet marketing, writing a book as a sales lead and then upselling could study this as it is probably as equally suited on that topic as it is on meditation. It is definitely a useful book if you are completely new to meditation and wondering if it could be beneficial, but if you're already sold on the idea and have some knowledge it may contain some useful tips and a way to progress (with the online course) that may be of interest.

Highly recommend

First heard Emily Fletcher on Kwik Brain podcast (also recommended). Emily makes meditation accessible and breaks it down making it easy to digest. Also she doesn't leave you waiting to the end of the book for the big reveal. Which is refreshing. MZ

very little meditation

the book starts by explaining the many known benefits of meditation which you'd expect, sadly it never progresses beyond this with many meditation exercises. There is a very limited meditation at the end which seems to have been added afterwards. The main aim of this book seems to be to get people to sign up to the online course or visit one of the live lessons. Very disappointing listen

A necessary practice for the world

Emily Fletcher manages to create the subtle balance of highly detailed information on meditation and relatable anecdotal examples. This book captures how meditation should be regarded in the modern age, where people are so intently focused on creating success and fulfilment, that people are neglecting the very source. The Ziva technique has enabled me to de-stress, detoxify my limiting beliefs and return to my inner bliss. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to achieve more without having the unnecessary stress burdening their daily routine. Emily - you are a godsend 😍😇🤩

Same old..

The introduction proudly claimed this was not some western yogi that learned a few tricks and wanted to share them with the world. This is exactly that and there is very little value add if you already meditate and have read other books on the topic.

Meditate Please!!

Emily writes and reads very well. This book gives you a clear explanation of what meditation can do and it is definitely worth giving it a go. The reasoning behind my star rating (Overall 4, Performance 4, Story 3) is because there is a part in the book which is the most important one when she explains how to meditate, that is not clear. Practicality is what is missing!! I think.
Emily goes well through the 3 Ms. Mindfulness, Meditation, Manifesting. Mindfulness and Manifesting are clear but the Meditation part does not get practical. Only a lot of talking. Am I suppose to just sit and breathe? Breathe how? Mantra? do not get it!!! I read that chapter several times and yet I do not get it. Sorry!! I contacted Emily via Instagram and she referred me to the Facebook groups which I did join and there I asked if I could have some clarifications but again nothing practical!!

I have not started my meditation yet as I am not sure how to do it!!

A useful beginers guide, but flawed.

This is a nice beginners guide to meditation. If you wanted to read one book on meditation and come away with a simple practice that would deliver benefits for the rest of your life, this would do it.

So why the lacklustre ratings? Well...

First off, about half of the book is up selling and product placement for her other products (Online courses, seminars, private lessons etc). That gets old really fast.

Secondly, what she presents here is essentially a repackaging of the kind of transcendental meditation techniques that swept the west in the 70s. Very useful, but nothing new. Along with that comes the old scam of charging acolytes substantial sums of money for personalized mantras... again nothing new, but honestly, read this book and you will know everything you need to know. Refrain from the urge to succumb to Ms Fletcher's constant urging to spend hundreds of dollars on personal time with her. It's the same brand of snake oil that's been swilling round the meditation world for decades.

Thirdly, the book is clearly aimed at fortune 500 CEOs, and as such the tone is unremittingly aspirational and American. maybe you like that sort of thing, in which case, fine. On me, it grates. She goes on endlessly about leaving her successful Broadway career to start her meditation company. As someone who has worked in the industry I feel compelled to say that understudy roles in your mid 30's do not constitute a 'successful Broadway career'. In fact, they constitute exactly the kind of Broadway career that causes people to look around themselves and say "This isn't really working out, I need to jack it in and find another gig... maybe I'll start a meditation company and persuade business people with too much money to give me a hefty chunk of it".

All of that said, if you strip away the above, there is a good, concise, practical and unthreatening guide to meditational technique here. I'd recommend it if that's what you want. Just be prepared to wade through the marketing, business speak and smug self promotion to get to it.

A sceptic no more

Wow my first ever medtitaion from this book. And I can't believe how it made me feel. I've tried to meditate before but it's never worked for me. This time is different. It had to work, my doc recommended this book and I am so glad she did. This will be a regular in my house now and I will be teaching my husband and sons to. Thank you
