Publisher's Summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author S.E. Smith presents another adventure- and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.

Star Strauss has always been a fighter. From the time she was born prematurely to her life on the road as a circus performer, she has never let her small stature keep her from achieving her dreams. Her love of being up high and flying free has helped her overcome the challenges she faces when she is on the ground. But her life changes when she finds herself on a distant world where every creature seems to tower over her.

Jazin Ja Kel Coradon is the third son of the ruling House of Kassis. He is known not only for his skills as a fierce warrior but also for his knowledge of communication, security, and weapons systems. This knowledge has increased the effectiveness of the Kassis defenses protecting their world from attack from a new group of rebels who threaten their very existence. He will fight until his last breath to protect his people.

His life changes when he meets a tiny creature who is unlike anything he has ever seen. She is petite, delicate, and beautiful - and the strongest, most stubborn female he has ever met. She refuses to do what he tells her, she defies him at every turn, and she doesn't seem to understand that all he wants to do is protect her. If he could just get her to stay in the safe bubble he has created for her, his life would be so much simpler!

Star had enough of people back home trying to put her in a glass box. But when the man she loves is kidnapped, she will do what she does best: use her skills as a performer to rescue him from the men determined to bring down the Kassis defense system.

Sometimes being small has its advantages. The enemy never expects a pint-size female to have the strength of a warrior.

Narration is okay.

I have to listen to this at 1.25 speed or it seems to be dragging. Narration is okay apart from that point. I just love this series and love listening whilst doing housework or driving. BOOK REVIEW Read this book you will not be disappointed. You will be rushing to get the others in this series. Three women who can kick butt and laugh about it have just made my day. Loved their upbringing. So much happens I cannot tell you in a review as it goes in many directions. Still after the baddies, Star is kidnapped and the part with the French dudes was priceless. Whilst this book focuses on Star and Jazin we have the others all weaving through it and meet new characters who will hopefully get their own stories. I loved the circus coming back with Jo and Manota to Kassis. If you like amazing capable women kicking alien butt and finding their HEA's with hot hunky alien shifters whilst fighting a background battle this book is for you. This book ties in with Ms Smith’s alien world.

Compelling

This is the second book of the Lord of the Kassis and as the first one it didn't disappoint. The story of Jazin and Star is beautiful and thrilling with a dash of humour thrown in that makes a compelling read :) Samantha Cook is amazing as the narrator, she brings so much emotion and feelings to the characters that captures you and enthrals you. Thank you both xox

Feisty heroine and sexy alien - great romance

Ms Smith imbues all of her writing with delightful humor, strong feisty women and protective men who have to learn to turn down the over-protective tendencies. this story fits right in with an original and fun story line.

GREAT STORY OF LOVE, LIFE AND DETERMINATION!

If you could sum up Star’s Storm in three words, what would they be?

TINY. LOVABLE. DEADLY. SHE IS A TINY LITTLE THING. LOVED HER SISTERS VERY MUCH AND ANYONE SHE LOVED WITH FIERCE DETERMINATION. VERY DEADLY WHEN SHE HAD TO BE, EVEN THOUGH MOST OF THE TIME SHE IS SCARED.

Who was your favorite character and why?

WELL I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS JAZIN - THE POOR GUY WAS PULLING HIS HAIR OUT MOST OF THE TIME TRYING TO DEAL WITH STAR.

What about Samantha Cook’s performance did you like?

SAMANTHA COOK WAS GREAT. SHE KEPT THE STORY ROLLING RIGHT ALONG. SHE WAS UPBEAT WHERE SHE NEEDED TO BE AND SOUNDED SERIOUS WHEN THE STORY CALLED FOR IT. GOOD JOB SAMANTHA!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

WHEN STAR WAS TOLD THAT JAZIN WAS DEAD. HOW SHE KIND OF SHUT DOWN UNTIL SHE WAS TOLD THAT HE WAS ALIVE AND SHE WAS DETERMINED TO GO GET HIM.

Any additional comments?

I LOVE THE STORIES - HOWEVER, SE SMITH DRIVES ME CRAZY WITH SOME OF THE NAMES SHE COMES UP WITH. I ONLY LISTEN TO AUDIO BOOKS, AND I DON'T HAVE A CLUE ON HOW TO SPELL SOME OF THE NAMES OF THE CHARACTERS. MAYBE A LIST OF CHARACTERS LOCATED SOMEWHERE FOR US AUDIO PEOPLE TO SEE THE NAMES??

Samantha Cook is a genius.

S.E. Smith writes great stories and Samantha Cook tells them perfectly. I love the different voices of the characters. My favorite scene is on the Piece of Shit. So funny! Lots of action, sexy scenes etc. I do think Smith has eye rolling, annoying sex talk but it’s good Samantha doesn’t perform them in the way they were written which a really good thing. I do recommend this story.

Cliche City ... Banal Bay

"The [Gods] rained down like rain." Why did I buy it? Free. Why did I keep listening? Damned if I know.

Actually it might be because the three female MCs were daredevil circus performers on Earth. Not a usual occupation. Weak reason i admit.

Enjoyable

I have enjoyed all of S.E. Smith's books/series. They are such an interesting read. The characters are hilarious at times. Bold and dangerous at others. When are no joke whether they're from earth or not.
