Publisher's Summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of science fiction, urban fantasy, and paranormal romance brings another action-, adventure-, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.

Jo Strauss is committed to two things in her life - her family and her life as an acrobat/high-wire performer; she takes both very seriously. Her life is orderly, in control, and she is finally settling down in one place so she can spend more time with her parents instead of moving all over the world every few weeks. To celebrate her and her younger sister Star's one year anniversary away from the circus they have grown up with, they meet River Knight, their childhood friend and sister of the heart, for a vacation in the mountains of North Carolina. Everything is going as planned until she and her sisters are kidnapped. Now, she finds herself transported to another world. Aliens, warships, battles, and a certain male all were not in the carefully detailed plans she had mapped out for her life.

Manota Ja Kel Coradon is the second son of the ruling House of Kassis. He is known as the dark brother, a reputation that he lives up to. He has fought hard to protect his family and the people of Kassis, at times sacrificing parts of his soul to do so. His knowledge, skills, and development of weaponry are legendary. His skill as a warrior brings shivers of fear to his opponents, who know he never offers mercy to any who stand in his way.

Manota is in total control of his world, until one slender, feisty alien female crashes through the shields he has placed around his heart. She is fearless, determined, and stubborn. She absolutely refuses to cower before him, no matter how much he growls. He is determined to protect her and claim her as his own, but there is one little problem - she will not agree to accept his claim unless he returns for her parents.

Now, he has even bigger problems that come in all different shapes, sizes, and species. The return trip is fraught with enough dangers, but Jo and Star's parents aren't the only ones coming back to Kassis - so is the circus family who had gathered to help look for their missing family members.

Traitors, pirates, and mimes are just the tip of the iceberg of trouble gliding through warp speed to his home world. Manota is about to learn that the prophecy that was foretold centuries before is true. His mate is just as much of a warrior as he is, and she comes with backup when an old enemy attacks.

I have to listen to this at 1.25 speed

I have to listen to this at 1.25 speed or it seems to be dragging. I just love this series and love listening whilst doing housework or driving. BOOK REVIEW Read this book you will not be disappointed. You will be rushing to get the others in this series. Three women who can kick butt and laugh about it have just made my day. Loved their upbringing. So much happens I cannot tell you in a review as it goes in so many directions. Whilst this book focuses on Jo and Manota we have the others all weaving through it. We have these books all working and weaving together at the same time but in different directions. This whole series is brilliantly done. If you like amazing capable women kicking alien butt and finding their HEA's with hot hunky alien shifters whilst fighting a background battle this book is for you. This book ties in with Ms Smith’s alien world.

AWESOME STORY - NEVER DULL.

Would you listen to Jo's Journey again? Why?

YES. I PLAN ON DOING IT AGAIN SOON. I HAVE ALREADY LISTENED TO RIVER AND STAR'S STORIES TWICE. I CATCH THINGS I MISSED THE FIRST TIME THRU.

What other book might you compare Jo's Journey to and why?

BOY THAT IS A HARD REQUEST. ALL SUSAN'S BOOKS ARE AWESOME, WITH ADVENTURES A-PLENTY.

What about Samantha Cook’s performance did you like?

I LOVED SAMANTHA'S NARRATION - SHE DID A GREAT JOB. MOVED RIGHT ALONG, DIDN'T LAG IN THE DIALOG AT ALL. :-)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

WARRIORS FROM EARTH SAVES KASSIS AND BRINGS LOVE TO THE ALLIANCE.

Any additional comments?

GREAT STORY SE SMITH, GREAT STORY.

Book three focuses on Jo and her mate..her travels to earth to return with her parents and the circus...alison adding more couples, more laughs, entertaining, action, suspense and romance. We revisit River and Star and view their stories once again quickly from Jo’s point of view.

Humorous

I enjoy listening to this narrator.
I liked this book best out of this series. There are many cute and funny parts as well as a couple of fights for survival.
Jo wants to go back to Earth in order to let her parents know that she, her sister and River are all fine. Manota takes her back to see her parents but things don't go as planned. As you know if you read the previous book, the whole circus decided to go to Kassis and live there.
They have to deal with circus animals, space pirates, castaways, and love sick Kassisians all on the way. Plus they still have the traitor to deal with when they reach the planet.
I loved this series so far and I hope that you will give it a try!

Third book in series

This audiobook was probably my least favorite in the series, but it was still a good listen! The characters of Jo and Minota are well matched and when you add in the circus performers returning with them from Earth, there are funny moments. The narration was well performed.
