Publisher's Summary

The Underdark. A place of brooding darkness, where no shadows exist, and where Drizzt Do'Urden does not wish to go. The noble dark elf must return there, though, he must go back to find his friends in the gnome city of Blingdenstone, and on to Menzoberranzan, the city of drow. Only then can Drizzt discern what perils might reach out from that dark place to threaten his friends in Mithril Hall.

No better author and no better narrator.

This series is great. Unfortunately the narrator is so good that any author narrator for RA Salvatore's stories sounds terrible by comparison

Awesome!

What made the experience of listening to Starless Night the most enjoyable?

All Drizzt stories that happens in context of the drow city and in the under dark shine far above the surface tales of previous book! All books were very, very good, but the first 2 and this one are amazing, in the under dark the stories are totally awesome! I particularly enjoyed the Machiavelli politics and intrigues of the management of that dark city and its dark magic.

a freaking mazing book, well worth the listen.

R.A. Salvatore is a great writer who wraps 9ntp the story of Drizzt completely. I cannot imagine anybody else beside Victor Bevine voicing the deep and rich characters.

Pretty good book. Too heavy on fight scenes.

I have always enjoyed RA Salvatore, but it seems like the more this series goes on, the more he relies on fight scenes, described in excruciating detail, at the price of less plot line and story telling. He tells a good story, but I like a story, not a blow by blow of a sword fight every third scene in the book.

Back to Menzoberranzan! Good, classic Drizzt

The book starts out slowly and gradually builds up the action and excitement, as Drizzt and his friends deal with tragedy and old enemies. We go into the Underdark and see more of the Dark Elves and other creatures that live down there, which is very interesting and keeps the suspense going.

The book is enjoyable, but Victor Bevine still has an odd way of narrating for me. He almost whispers, but on the other hand his voices for the characters are distinct and done very well. If you've come his far in the Drizzt series of books, this one won't disappoint. Good fun.

enchanting

As always, this is an excellent book from a master story teller. I just can help going through all the books in the series. The narration is in a class of its own. Good character distinction always. Bravo to Victor Bevine
