Publisher's Summary

Join the world's most famous drow elf in the penultimate chapter of the Legend of Drizzt series! Spending time in the unimaginable torture chambers of the Abyss for even a day would be enough to break even the heartiest soul, and the barbarian Wulfgar was there for years. When he returns, his friends find him a changed man, and not changed for the better. But Wulfgar's road to redemption is one he must travel on his own, even if it leads to the bottle.

Incredibly moving and profound

As to be expected from RA Salvatore. This book is a testimony the authors talent in generating true emotion and life lessons.

Relating the story of Wolfgar during his time apart from Drizzt and the others, this book has surprised me as one of my absolute favorite in the series. Thanks a lot Mr. Salvatore!

One of my favourites

A bit darker than the other stories but that just served to haul me even deeper into the emotion. It was just fantastic to get to know wolfgar better. Definitely one of my favourites of the series so far.

Victor, that's not how you pronounce 'lived'

I hate to say this, but this was a bit of a dud. The majority of this story was incredibly dull and should have been compressed down to just a few chapters. It really only starts to get interesting in the last couple hours. Honestly, you really should just read the summary on Wikipedia and spend your credit on something else.

Feel free to skip to the next one

I have enjoyed the rest of the series but this was a drag. I ended up skipping every second chapter because the plot was so slow, obvious and out of place.
