Rushed Audio, Shallow Plot

I think this is the last Star Wars audiobook I'll buy. The narrator has a rather distracting habit of making all the characters sound like they're perpetually annoyed and rolling their eyes and also tries way too hard to make even the most mundane sentence sound exciting and mind-blowing. His southern accent also slips in every now and then which is off-putting when he voices characters that shouldn't have one like Leia.
Story is good and I enjoyed it as a follow up to the Battlefront II video game. Does feel more like a side quest instead of a major revitalisation of the Resistance though. Also the sub-plot with the secretary being abused by her boss is as boring as it is out of place in a Star Wars book. Would have much rather spent more time with Rey or Iden's daughter.

Lackluster

initially struggled with the narrator's enthusiasm and delivery, but eventually got used to it. I just... I don't know, I'm not a far of this particular installment.

Disney Canon Finding it’s Feet

I finally feel like the Disney Sequel Canon is finally finding its feet.

The story was a great bridge for post Last Jedi and the narration and sound was top quality as expected from Marc Thompson these days, would highly recommend

Amazing

Loved it, couldn't get enough!
The perfect bridge between Episode 8 and the yet to be released Episode 9! Gives some great background context to the upcoming movie which has also helped me get my Star Wars fix in the meantime!

A MUST READ FOR THE HARD CORE FAN. EXCELLENT!

This book is exciting, meaningful and adds so much preamble to what we should expect to watch in The Rise of Skywalker.

Heaps of old known characters and mentions from all the Star Wars lore. It brings emotional moments, exciting action situations, nostalgia, the lot!

Read it, no really, is very very good!

The Best

This might be my favourite Star Wars books so far. Rewards the listener with lots of character development and a great narrative for the chara ters established in the recent movies. This author has a bright future telling star wars stories

Even if you love Star Wars I feel this is 5/10

I don’t feel Poe Dameron is the right focus for this extended universe story. I tried a few times to settle in to the tale and whilst some Wedge and his wife scenes were interesting the rest was too lacking in story arcs as if it’s a stop gap until the rise of sky walker. Which even if it is as a reader I don’t want it to be spelled out to me with plodding dialogue and more of the wish wash that this sequel trilogy suffered from. Each character was not clearly there for a narrative reason in the stories. Their trajectory not thought out, aimlessly travelling through space searching for macguffins or for more rebels.

Rubbish from start to finish

The voice acting is just plain terrible. I never really understood what was going on until the final few chapters. It practically adds nothing to the Star Wars universe. I would not recommend this to any reader let alone Star Wars fans.

Fan Service at its Best

Really nice roundup to the current Star Wars extended canon leading up to TROS. So many easter eggs and characters from other media, Battlefront 2, other books, comics, etc. Excellent Poe and Finn moments too

Nothing ties in with Rise of the Skywalker.

Good read but just a story with characters of the same names as the film. Doesn't tie into Rise of the Skywalker

Very enjoyable prelude to Episode IX

The story was very enjoyable and the voice performances were engaging. I will be seeing the new film tonight, so I hope that the events in this story, as well as the new characters, appear in the film.

Amazing

Easily one of the best books I’ve ever heard. Like other reviews have said it’s just like an episode of the saga. And finishing it in time to go see THE RISE OF SKYWALKER at midnight was perfect. Couldn’t be more exited now

Very satisfying.

Resistance Reborn acts as the bridge between The Last Jedi and The Rise if Skywalker. But not only that, it also provides a satisfying link to other Star Wars canon works. Characters from the Star Wars Battlefront 2 campaign, the Aftermath trilogy, and the excellent Bloodline book make their own returns, and they are excellently developed. Questions are answered, and of course more are raised for future works to answer, and in general it just feels like the culmination of so much of the post-ROTJ timeline.
Marc Thompson may have delivered his best ever performances in this audiobook too. I was frequently enraptured by the drama his voice exudes. This is why I mostly listen to Star Wars audiobooks, they are always more than just books converted to audio format. They are more akin to radio plays.
I could go on for pages and pages about how good this was, but I'll conclude by saying this was easily the best Star Wars audiobook I have had the pleasure of listening to.
