it wanderes around for the first half of the book, but i think it got better half way. good writing and narration, good potential for a fun series

loved this series. creative and captivating while still being funny as. inside jokes and insane world building. can't wait for the next one.

I'm about 10 hours in and literally NOTHING interesting happened. The most frustrating thing so far is the book building Rylan up as antagonist, while Alex is just sitting there watching and then being surprised at his power. The world building and tedious stuff of the first 10 hours could (and should) have been condensed to something like 2-3 hours. From now on I will be liberally skipping parts in the hopes of getting to any adventuring/fighting.

This is frustrating to listen to.
