Publisher's Summary

Stand-alone, second-chance, single-dad, rock star romance

From New York Times best-selling author S.L. Scott comes a new book that will introduce you to rock stars with heart and soul.

One break is all The Crow Brothers need, and we’re about to get it. Johnny Outlaw, rock legend and lead singer of The Resistance, is here to watch us play. But he’s not the only familiar face in the crowd - killer little body, heart-shaped face, and drop-dead gorgeous. Hannah Nichols sitting at the bar makes it hard to concentrate with sparks already reigniting. The beauty was never a groupie, and tonight she’s not here to catch our show. She came to drop a bomb. “You have a son.” She underestimated me. I’ll prove to my son, and her, that I can be the dad he needs.

What is it about musicians? Why are they so damn sexy? My heart was Jet Crow’s the moment he opened his sexy mouth and sang that first song. One stolen night with that man would never be enough, but I’m not here to fall into his bed. Again. I’m here to fight for custody of a son he’s never known. There’s just one problem. Those sparks between us have become flames. If we’re not careful, we’re both going to get burned.

The Big Encompassing You

Overall 4.5 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 4 stars

I really enjoyed this emotional rock star romance! It was much more heartfelt and poignant than I anticipated. It really highlighted the importance of timing in life and the bonds of family (by blood or by choice). Yes, there's an instant attraction between Jet and Hannah, but both can feel that they are on the precipice of something much more incredible than one night of sex. When they meet again months later, and under much different circumstances, what gradually develops between them is more organic and natural. It only made me root for their happily ever after even harder.

I loved seeing Jet move into the role of father to Alfie. It's not a huge stretch considering his relationship with his own brothers and family history, but it was still beyond sweet. He goes all in, just as he does with Hannah, and readers/listeners everywhere are still swooning. Hannah's past has been traumatic to say the least and has really altered her sense of self. Seeing her blossom again with the help of Jet and Alfie was wonderful and this story was as much a love story between her and Jet as it was between Hannah and herself. The real scene stealer though is Alfie. He's magic every time and oh so adorable. He is wise beyond his years, but still has that childlike wonder. I loved his relationship with Tulsa and he brought a straight forward honesty to the story that only children can bring. It's his new found relationship with Jet that is the cornerstone of the book.

The narration by Sebastian York and Ava Erickson was fantastic and they were incredible together. York has the amazing ability to not only voice the strong, sexy alpha hero, but he can also perform female and children wonderfully as well. I can't think of a better narrator to bring Jet Crow to life. Erickson was equally incredible as Hannah, and she really captured all the anguish, heartache, and vulnerability of the character so well. This is my first time listening to an audiobook narrated by her, but it certainly won't be my last!

The Crow Brothers have definitely piqued my interest and I can't wait to read/listen to their stories as well. I'm especially intrigued by the middle Crow brother, River. He's much more reserved and quiet compared to Tulsa, and his tender moment with Jet at the end gives us some bread crumbs about where his story is going. I'm also interested to learn more about the honorary Crow brother, Dave. I feel like we've only scratched the surfaced on his story. I definitely enjoyed this one a lot!

Surprise!

Oh Jet, this is how every man should react when they find out they are a father.
It was no fault of his own that he didn’t know about him but when he does he really steps up and I love this.

Hannah was just ok for me, I felt like the author put a lot on her shoulders and it weighed her down. I wanted to root for her but I just didn’t think she could pull through. I don’t know maybe it was to make Jet shine more?

Alfie stole the show! I loved this kid, he was wise for his age and probably to perceptive but most kids are. I liked that we get him throughout the book and that the author never forgets him in a scene as many do.

Overall I enjoyed the book I like the timeline nothing felt like insta-love, thank goodness. I really enjoyed the narration and the dual pov’s that helped me enjoy the book. I mean SebYo, of course, it was going to be great and Ava sure brings her character's emotions.

Too much internal dialog

The first third of this book was okay, and I had hopes that it would develop into more. It didn't. A couple of reveals appeared, but they did not amount to much. The internal dialog of the characters went on and on. I made myself finish listening, but it wasn't worth the time

Love The Crow Brothers!

What a great start to The Crow Brothers series. Hannah was looking for a distraction from the heartbreaking events in her life. Sexy musician, Jet, provided that and so much more. Jet fell hard for the woman with sad eyes. He wanted more than one night of passion, but woke to an empty bed. Now months later Hannah returns to reveal that he has a son he never knew he had with her deceased cousin and she will fight him for custody. Jet still wants Hannah, but now he wants his son even more. Jet will do whatever it takes to prove he is more than an irresponsible musician. He wants to love and protect the adorable son he missed so much time with, and win Hannah's heart as well. Hannah is stuck between lies she has been told and the sexy, kind, and caring man she fell for months earlier. She loves her nephew and wants what's best for him without having her heart broken again by another musician. This heartfelt, sweet and sexy romance is brought to life beautifully by talented narrators, Sebastian York, and Ava Erickson. Erickson embodied Hannah's strength, resilience, and vulnerability flawlessly. York was exceptional as he brought out the range of emotions that Jet experienced as he struggled with life changes, always wanting to be the caretaker for those he loves. Both narrators have a wonderful range of voices and expression that I love to get lost in and make this story even better. I really enjoyed all the Crow brothers and can't to wait to listen to their stories next!

Rockstar Romance

I enjoyed this book. Loved the narrators.

This is an interesting story. Jet Crow and his brothers are an up-and-coming band that is about to get a break. Hannah has a one night stand with Jet, and she leaves an impression on him - he can’t stop thinking about her. He sees her again, and she is harboring a secret. Can he get past the shock of what seeing her again and what it means? Will it affect the band’s big break? Can Hannah get past what has happened to her in previous relationships?

I am definitely looking forward to books about Jet’s brothers.

All it takes is a Spark

S.L. Scott's book Spark is will give you everything most satisfying in a book. Jet Crow and Hannah met at one of his concerts. He is the oldest of The Crow Brothers rock band. They had a sizzling one night stand and Hannah was gone in the morning. Fast forward six months, and Hannah sets out to meet Jet again. She has news for him, he is the father of a little boy. It seems Hannah's cousin, and Jet were together years ago and broke up.. Jet never knew about his son. This is a story of Hannah and Jet, and little Alfie. Jet is wonderful with his son and eager to be a father to him, but there is trouble. Alfie's grandmother is fighting for custody of him.Hannah is stronger Hannah is stronger than she thinks. You see, Hannah has been emotionally abused by her family, and physically abused by an old boyfriend. This is the story of three people coming together and facing difficulties. I highly recommend this book! The narration by Sebastian York and Ava Erickson was flawless.

5 Rock Stars

What a wonderful read. Jet Crow is the ultimate nice guy. A rock star with a heart of gold. I loved him. Not too alpha, but very much in charge. Perfect. He also has a wonderful support network of family and friends. When he meets Hannah Nichols, sparks fly, and he’s immediately hooked within her goodness. Hannah however is caught up in her own problems and sadly has no intention of seeing Jet again. Fate however has other plans and tragedy brings them together, tragedy along with a wonderfully cute little boy. Alfie is in fact the star of the show, he completely steals the limelight in the best possible way. A wonderfully written story full of family, love and ultimately loyalty and trust. Perfect narration from the wonderful Sebastian York and Ava Erickson, together they nailed it.

So Much Love!

Spark by SL Scott is so much more than I expected. I really found the story to be well written and fell in love with many of the characters. Sebastian York and Ava Erickson were magical at bringing them to life. They both added realistic emotions and have amazing voices. The Crow brothers were such an endearing group. This is not the typical rock-star romance, the main characters of Jet and Hannah really have a "Spark". I loved the added character of Alfie, and thought that having him being a priority was awesome. Well done! I will definitely listen to more books by this author and talented narrators.

LOVED IT

OMG! What an incredible book, I loved it. One of the things I liked was that once they decided to be together they stayed together throughout the whole book, and that they knew they love each other and weren't afraid to say it, they didn't wait because they hadn't been together for long or because it wasn't the "right moment". There is an amazing family bond and I truly loved it.

Another thing, was the personality of all of them and how they interact together it was really well written. Jet, I love love love him he's strong, protective, loving, committed. Once he knew he had a kid, he just went all in and made everything possible to be a good father. Hannah, she's pretty awesome and fantastic, after everything she's been through, she's still there for her family when they needed her, she's strong, caring, protective. Alfie, well he's the best, so sweet and comprehensive, and just enlightens the whole book.

As for the narrattion. It was super amazing, both narrattors Sebastian York and Ava Erikson, their tone, paced, voices, everything was perfect, no matter who was narrating it was so good and I just wanted to keep listening and listening.

Rockstar with heart and lots of sexy

This was a very good rock star story that is a little different from the usual. This rock star Jet - doesn't want to live the typical lifestyle he want to pursue the girl who is mysteriously not interested in more than just a one night stand. We soon learn why. Hannah comes from a very rocky past and she is determined not to let another man in her life.. She also has the responsibility of her nephew to consider. Jet can't forget her and when she comes back into his life to tell him an unbelievable secret everything changes and he is even more determined to make Hannah his.

The wonderful narration of Sebastian York and Ava Erickson made this story even better as they bring such emotion and heart to these characters. They make you cheer even more for this couple and the little boy that is part of both of their lives.

This rock story is full of heart as well as soul and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This was so good!!

This was a really great story of a really messed up family dynamic and how Hannah overcame this!!! Alfie is a very sweet little boy and instantly loved his dad. Hanna’s ant and her dad... are really not good people... she did well to get away from them!!!!

Sebastian York is one of my very favorite male voices!! And Ava Erickson is perfect!

You’ve never met this rockstar before!

SL Scott’s Spark was a nice surprise, this is a story of life before stardom. Jet and Hannah’s story can almost be looked at as a second chance romance, one surprisingly driven by the love of a little boy, Alfie. I enjoyed the narration by Sebastian York though I did find Ava Erickson’s voice a little high pitched for me, but that’s just personal preference.
