Stella Fellowes has a life she doesn’t want - an unfulfilling job, debt without a ceiling, and lonely nights she spends pretending not to miss the one thing she needs - the boy who broke her heart.

Five years later, the guitarist she once loved is back with a hit record, millions of fans, and that look in his eye that still makes her weak in the knees. Only she’s not the same girl he once knew.

When these two star-crossed lovers come together, time starts to heal old wounds. Although she’s compelled to look past his sins, will he be able to look past hers?

Snooze

So disappointing! Loved the first 3 books in this series but this one really felt like a money grab by the author. I loved Joe Morgan's narration but Grace Grant really let the Audible version down for me. I wish there was a filter in Audible for you to screen out Narrators that annoy you.

my least favorite.

I adore S.L Scott's books, but this one just didn't hold me. I think it's because I really didn't like the female narrator Grace Grant. Her male voice made me cringe. The male narrator Jacob Morgan was good thou. if it wasn't for him, I might have given up.

WELL I TRIED.. I really really tried

Oh boy I‘m so totally bummed out right now.. I had been looking forward to this listen for ages - and I’d even pre-ordered it as soon as I knew it was about to be released. And the first few chapters started out deliciously good about second chances and the reunion of true love that had the promise of great things to come.. but unfortunately my hopes began to dwindle the further the dual POV plot unfurled. — SPOILER ALERT — River and Stella were besotted soulmates from the age of fifteen but after High School River did a secret favor for Naomi (Stella’s best friend) but it backfired when everyone, including Stella, believed the rumors that Naomi and River had slept together and Naomi didn’t deny it.. in fact she revelled in the limelight. River had sworn secrecy and when Stella, his North Star, begged him for the truth he chose Naomi rather than putting Stella first. Pride and heartbreak filled the gap where trust and love had been. Fast forward five years.. River, now in a mega famous Rock Band, is back to claim the only woman he ever loved.. and it didn’t take him long.. in fact it only took a couple of meetings before Stella suddenly believes him.. even though he STILL won’t reveal the truth about Naomi’s stupid secret. Everything was forgiven way too soon and much too easily IMO.. but I still had hopes that this talented author could deliver magic from her talented bag of tricks.. but sadly I was wrong. River misguidedly sought out Naomi in her tatty run-down trailer and asked for HER crazy worthless permission.. and the bitch laughed in his face and the blows didn’t stop coming. And I could go on about the jumped scenes, the plot inconsistencies, the continual stupidity of Stella when danger came a calling that irritated and annoyed the hell out of me.. so much so I thought of stopping the book a few times. However, I still persevered.. wishing for the impossible.. but I’m depressingly sad to say that the revelations, suspense, drama and action came too late in the story to save the stars from falling off my rating. Worth a credit? IMO.. and it IS only my opinion, this isn’t even worth picking up in a sale. However, we are all different and you may love it.. and that’s good too.

NOT FOR ME!

I enjoyed listening to the previous books and was looking forward to this one, however, I just couldn't get into it. The heroine was extremely frustrating, and the hero threw away his happiness for something not worth a second thought. I usually enjoy second chances, but this story just dragged. One usually finds out what happens to make the main characters break-up at the beginning of the story, then go forth towards redemption. In this book it takes forever to find out what happened to cause the break-up. And once you find out, all one can think is ..."was that it?" Was that worth screwing up your relationship? My answer was "NO". And afterward, the way the heroine goes about trying to resolve the situation is simply stupid. I know this is fiction, but make the situations these characters find themselves in at least a little bit more believable. This book was not for me, however, I seem to be in the minority, so don't let my opinion stop you from listening to this story.

Ok...

** sighs** So I tried to listen to this book. As much as I love the narrators, I could not get into this book. Too much back and forth bickering of cheating vs no cheating and neither one is listening to the other. I couldn’t take it. I gave up. I was hoping I could finish it but I couldn’t.. sorry. The rating isn’t fair- granted. Hopefully no one uses this review to judge the book. Additionally, for other readers/ listeners who want to follow up with the Crow brothers, perhaps it’s a worthy read. It just wasn’t for me

It just goes on and on

This book just goes on and the plot gets boring. It could have ended sooner. The reader is normally good but no in this story. I used a credit so I pushed through but knew the ending and every plot twist before it happens.

Emotional, angst-fill and I loved it1

I originally read Rivers by SL Scott when it was first released and loved it! So when I had a chance to listen to the audio as well, I jumped at the chance! Narrators Jacob Morgan and Grace Grant were amazing as Rivers and Stella. It brought the story to life for me in a whole new way and I loved it even more! We finally get Rivers story in, wait for it, Rivers by S.L. Scott a second chance romance that was an emotional ride! Stella and Rivers loved each other, but when Rivers left, it left them both missing a big part of themselves. Now Rivers is rock star with all the perks that includes. He has everything, but the one thing he truly wants. Stella has tried to move on from Rivers, but how can you move on from a man that has stolen your heart? Her life has not gone as planned and she is struggling day-to-day. But now he is back but has no idea what her life has been like since he left. Can they find a way to forgive and love again? Rivers by S.L. Scott is everything this author is known for, emotional and angst-filled journeys with a touch of suspense and I loved every minute of it, both the eBook and audio! I love the Crow Brothers and Rivers just stole my heart! Another great listen from S.L. Scott! Listened and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog. Happy reading!

Worth your time...

Having thoroughly enjoyed all of the books about the Crow Brothers, Johnny Outlaw and all of their friends, I really looked forward to Rivers’ story. I was hesitant to listen because of the female narrator. Thankfully Jacob Morgan co-narrated. He saved it for me. Listening to the female narrator was painful at times. Her male voices sound like the Big Bad Wolf. I really wish Jacob had done it on his own. Story was good, although a bit sappy at times - but that’s to be expected after all. I enjoyed how the characters from the other books were woven in. Overall, worth your time - just know listening to the female narrator may be a bit rough.

I am so glad to finally hear River's story!! S.L. Scott never disappoints. She knows exactly what the heart wants to hear!! Love The Crow Brothers!! Make sure to listen to the Everest Brothers series too. Love how all her characters are linked in the different series.
