About this listen

World-renowned biohacker and bestselling author Dave Asprey reveals how to maximize your well-being with the minimum effort, by taking control of your body’s operating system.

If you want to lose weight, boost your energy, or sharpen your mind, there are shelves of books offering myriad styles of advice. If you want to build up your strength and cardio fitness, there are plenty of gyms and trainers ready to offer you their guidance. What all of these resources have in common is they offer you a bad deal: a lot of effort for a little payoff. Dave Asprey has found a better way.

In Smarter Not Harder, the proven master of biohacking exposes the surprising secrets of your body’s operating system, or its “MeatOS.” That system is naturally designed to be lazy, which is why sweaty exercise routines and rigid diets produce such limited effects. Dave shows us how to hack the MeatOS and make it do what we want it to do, turning it from obstacle into ally. The key to achieving optimum wellness, he reveals, isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing less—exercising and eating smarter, not harder, and making the body’s built in laziness work for you.

Smarter Not Harder is not a diet nor a fitness plan. It is a system of targeted biohacks aimed at upgrading your metabolic, neurological, and epigenetic systems. Packed with practical, accessible information on better eating; smart workouts that give you more strength and energy in less time; and strategic therapies to reduce stress and boost resilience—Smarter Not Harder will show you how to achieve lasting health in less time.

Fantastic insights into body, mind and spirit from new angles. Highlights how much GP’s and some other professionals don’t know when they simplify health instructions by saying things like ‘just take vitamin c, or iron tablets’. There’s so much more to know and consider.
I’ve already made changes, and more to come. Buying the paper book as a reference guide.

Friggin awesome book. Life changing (if you’re ready). Thanks Dave, you are making a great impact in this lifetime.

Great in depth information on health, fitness, longevity and actionable takeaways. But, why were the chapter takeaways and summaries not included in the accompanying pdf? The info was perfectly summarized. This would have made it far more valuable and easier to action.

Great book but missed value

We learn something new everyday, in this case a lot of new things over a few days. I found myself constantly googling simple hacks and taking notes to incorporate into my own life. I was immediately on the phone to my sister after reading the sections on dairy and mould reiterating and altering my perspectives learnt from many books. The hormones used on cows shocked me especially after realising that it was a common and legal practice in my country. A great listen that you could definitely listen to again as your life changes. I personally prefer non fiction books read by the authors so well done Dave.

Informative without the unnecessary fluff

I love Dave Asprey and all his work. Maybe because he has had to, but he has repeated a lot of points, especially around toxins, in this book. I do absolutely love some of his turns of phrase and the ideas on energy and laziness. I'm up to chapter 2, so far so good. But sadly like I said, way too much repetition.

Big fan of Dave, a lot of repetition
