Publisher's Summary

The best-selling author of With Our Blessing and Beneath the Surface.

The inspector frowned and examined the earth under the trees. As he scanned the glade, his stomach lurched. One, two, three, four. Five, counting the mound of earth disturbed under the tent. Somebody had cleared the earth of its natural layer and sown their own flowers.

In five places. Five graves. A young woman, Fiona Holland, has gone missing from a small Irish village. A search is mounted, but there are whispers. Fiona had a wild reputation. Was she abducted, or has she run away? A week later a gruesome discovery is made in the woods at Ireland's most scenic beauty spot - the valley of Glendalough.

The bodies are all young women who disappeared in recent years. DI Tom Reynolds and his team are faced with the toughest case of their careers - a serial killer who hunts vulnerable women and holds his victims captive before he ends their lives. Soon the race is on to find Fiona Holland before it's too late.

Continues the tradition of With Our Blessing

Another riveting story from Jo Spain, with the wonderful Tom Reynolds. This one explores the mind of a serial killer. Fascinating, and disturbing. The narration by Aoife McMahon is brilliant.

Brilliantly read

Aoife McMahon is a brilliant narrator. She managed to bring out each of the characters idiosyncrasies. I will get a book just because she is narrating. A good thrilling story too.

Loved it but...

I do love Jo Spains books and think she is a great talent. I still love the characters and the plot lines except for the introduction of his new boss... the theme of a great detective working for a hostlie boss is so old and 80% of writers in this genre include one which makes it tedious and unimaginative, so for Jo to follow trudging in these overused footsteps was very disappointing. On the plus side the return of the brilliant Aoife McMahon as narrator was a HUGE relief.

Strong storyline

Jo Spain tells a good story! Great characteristic, a plot that is well supported and unusuak with plenty of suspects.. Only negative comment is that the narration isn't as good as our could be though Aoife is a huge improvement in three narrator of book 2!

Great book

Really enjoy the Inspector Tom Reynolds stories. Good characters, interesting, logical plot, no sensationalism and a rare mention of Roscommon, home of my ancestors! Aoife McMahon is an excellent narrator; I’ve enjoyed many of her narrated works.

An excellent listen, thoruoghly recommended

Instantly appealing characters and sufficiently complex cast and storyline to keep you guessing. No Spain has a flowing writing style which. with the excellent narration of Aoife McMahon, immerses you completely. I've already downloaded the first in the series so that I don't miss anything.
