Publisher's Summary

Earth is locked in a dangerous arms race with Rigel.

McGill’s efforts at diplomacy are disastrous. Events spin out of control and interstellar warfare consumes the outer provinces of the Empire. Great fleets are gathered, and troops are hurried aboard transports. Legion Varus is launched toward a secret target world.

McGill leads an early strike against Rigel’s defenses, but his efforts are foiled at every turn. Who could be behind these betrayals? Could his own government be plotting his demise?

Find out in Sky World, the thrilling eighteenth book in the Undying Mercenaries series.

Best of the best

I’ve read a listened to more than 700 sci fi novels since 2017 and this series on ol’ Mcgill is by far the best and Mark Boyett’s narrative makes it the Best. Thank god the next in the series is out in two weeks. Thanks B.V.’

Can't get enough!

You'd think by book 18 in a series you would have heard it all... Well you would be very wrong. Everytime I see that a new book has come out in this series I have to quit plans of socialising for a few days and go for some long drives and listen constantly! this one was no exception. Great work as always!

Let’s make some money

Well that was 14 hours off nothing. A book for the author to make some cash. It could have been a great book.

How long are you going to keep us waiting?

Imagine what they could get away with working together, forget Claver! James and Galina would kill it.

good set up for next book

while I have listened to all the other books and found them fun and enjoyable with a few twist and turns. I felt this one was pushed out with a deadline and no real meat and interesting set up for the next book but rather silly story this time. little disappointed nothing seemed fleshed out

Enjoyable but like eating candy for dinner

This storyline was okay the whole chase by the Skay was fun and a few other bits but the books in the series are starting to feel tired with predictable characters and outcomes. I mean so of the characters have been in the same role for decades now with the same complaints, don't they grow as people? Surely the author doesn't expect us to believe that James McGill is dumb as a dog turd? I mean how can he be that clueless, it is starting to spoil the storyline. I thought the author was insinuating that James was getting tired of being treated the same way and was starting to rebel against the empire and the system and that he was going to start working as an assassin or spec ops for the government doing specialised missions to fight against the Empire but that seems to have gone nowhere.

It feels like eating sugar for each meal, after a while you get bored with it and crave steak.
