I enjoyed the characters, world-building, and the skill concept. It did feel a bit slow in places and slightly repetitive, but overall it was a good read!

Good read

Some parts were decent but for the most part I found the mc's penchant for rash idiotic obviously stupid moves conflict with his starting personality that saved and hid his money for years. Then he kept saying "I need to be careful" then would do some dumb things. His uncle ark was ridiculous(saw the events from a mile away the way the mc should've), let him be morbidly stupid or smart he can't be both. Also constantly not taking smarter choices of action that were available. Also mc dialogue (and the inherent stupidity behind so much of how he says things) bugged me a lot.

Overall good premise and fun novel ruined by an mc whose decisions, actions and character left much to be desired. There was genuinely good ideas in here that get overshadowed by the mc being forced to do stupid stuff. Felt like plot was forced along by slightly non sensical mc decision making. As you can hear it really bothered me and while I barely finished the book, it pissed me tf off constantly throughout the read. Godammit this book would be decent if the mc's intelligence and decision making stayed consistent and closer to good.

Also the romance was trash, if there was a character to force romance on, the spider would've been a poor but better choice given she actually has character and spent time with the mc. Please don't write more romance 😭🙏 and yeah mc is really dumb like really really stupid, yet he pieced together kingdom wide intrigues with minimal clues that practically no one else was explicitly putting togethe, give me a fking break.

The Mc is the dumbest "smart" guy
