Publisher's Summary

Some people are ordained for greatness…

Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by.

But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down.

He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy all he holds dear. He thinks I’m the key to his salvation, and he wants me to help him claim vengeance.

He also wants me with a passion that burns my body from the inside out.

To ignore him is impossible, but to give in to my desires, even for a night, would thrust me into danger I might not survive.

Can I resist the temptation?

My new favorite series

I am a sucker for an underdog female heroine. I especially love khristine Hvam! If you like paranormal romance novels, you will enjoy this book!

Nice start to a new series

Holy moly, K.F. Breene does it again with the start of this new series! I was hooked from the first chapter and absolutely hated to put the book down! What an amazing story. A female lead with a lot of snark and sass takes on a demigod who reluctantly has the hots for the heroine. I laughed so hard a couple of times I was crying and getting dirty looks from my son. This isn’t an ordinary run of the meal paranormal story. The storyline is well developed, highly entertaining, & combines paranormal romance with mythology. The characters are likable and believable. Besides the main characters, I really, really liked the support characters. They were so much fun! I’m so looking forward to the next book! The narrator did a fantastic job!

I love this story.

Usually the heroine is depicted as a nitwit who stupidly places themselves in danger, with low self esteem. This book did not need to make her small in order to sell the romance. I can't wait for the next one! The narrator did well with switching betweens the voices to bring the story to life. There was one instance where the voice change while the same character was speaking, this threw me off for a beat. but overall great performance.

Great but different

I enjoyed this paranormal take on our society in general. It depicts so many of the stupid behaviors that people exhibit daily. When it comes down to it. All people are the same yet different and unique. We are all born, we all bleed, we all die. yet prejudice is so rampant. This story is fictional yet so close to what the truth in our world is. We all occupy one planet. If we blow up one part it will impact the whole.

A new UF with all kinds of supes

For a first book, the author laid an excellent foundation while keeping the pace of the story fast.
Alexis was a great heroine who had a big heart but firm grasp on surviving. Her two wards Daisy and Mordecai were just as entertaining.
I’m still torn about the hero because he has his own agenda and motives but he has shown kindness, so I’m giving him room to win me over.
The narrator was just gold and the plot was really intriguing. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story.

horribly boring

the book wasn't bad but the storyline is boring. it really doesn't get good until the last 10 chapters or so. The narrator was great. but the book was boring. it really wasn't as good as I was hoping for considering the previous reviews. I found it annoying that the two children had more common Sense than the lead in this story. and they constantly had to remind her to use hers.

Highly recommend - loved this book

This book was so well written, it has interesting characters and the world building was great. The author is very talented and knows how to bring the reader along for the tale.

The beginning of the book was a bit clunky, which meant I didn’t really get into it until around the 3rd chapter, but I am so pleased I pushed through. It was one of the best books I’ve read in a very long time - I’ve already bought the next one.

The main heroine was great, well developed, smart and edgy, though I got a bit frustrated by her character constantly taking a stand and then back tracking and giving in - I wanted to yell at her to just take a stand and stick with it. This ‘giving in’, was sort of justified in the book by us being told this happens when your dealing with a Demigod, but I just think she has to be able to stand up to him or they can never have a relationship. It would have been very interesting if she had won their disagreements a couple of times. Having said that, the characters were consistent and interesting - this author knows how to develop enough depth with back story to make them matter, without ruining the current story.

What I really appreciated was the authors ability to keep the reader committed to the story even when the characters behaviour was on the borderline of acceptable. I didn’t always like them, but I absolutely wanted to know what the outcome would be.
I just wish there were 5 other books out in this series instead of only 1 more.

<br />A decent fantasy story

This was not exactly the everyday type of story I usually buy and because it was categorized and by regular romance titles I passed it up several times. However I have not had anything that I could get into lately and there weren't any new releases from mb y favorite authors or any good vampire series titles that I have not already listened to so I gave it a shot after reading some of the reviews which were all very good. I really thought Frank the ghost that was her neighbor who was just haliourious and the narrator did such a fantastic job of changing to all the different types of voices from young Daisy to the hot sexy voice of the demigod or her so called stalkers lol :)
So, I think that this is a great story for just about anyone who is looking for a story to enjoy and want a fantsy fun story to listen to and it is definitely worth a credit because I already bought book 2 and am listening to it right this very second:)

Sin & Chocolate

This was great fun and hugely entertaining, with laughter and sorrow running through in equal measures.
