About this listen

The fifth novel in the international No. 1 bestselling Mercy Thompson series - the major urban fantasy hit of the decade

'I love these books!' Charlaine Harris

'The best new fantasy series I've read in years' Kelley Armstrong

MERCY THOMPSON: MECHANIC, SHAPESHIFTER, FIGHTER

Being a mechanic is hard work. Mercy Thompson, for instance, just spent the last couple of months trying to evade the murderous queen of the local vampire seethe, and now the leader of the werewolf pack - who's maybe-more-than-just-a-friend - has asked for her help. A book of fae secrets has come to light and they're all about to find out how implacable - and dangerous - the fae can be.

OK, so maybe her troubles have nothing to do with the job. But she sure could use a holiday . . .

A fast-paced adventure featuring the ingenious and appealing Mercy Thompson - mechanic, trouble-magnet and coyote shapechanger.

Praise for the series:

'Plenty of twists and turns . . . Kept me entertained from its deceptively innocent beginning to its can't-put-it-down end' Kim Harrison, bestselling author of Dead Witch Walking

'I enjoyed every minute of it. I love Mercy and can't wait for her to kick some more ass' Lilith Saintcrow

Great story, great narration. Addictive and leaves you wanting more. Wish the production would fix the parts that are repeated.

This is an addictive story that you can't put down (so don't start before bed or you'll be seeing the sun rise). Love, betrayal and the Fae... any story in the Mercyverse with Fae is always entertaining, keeps you guessing and makes you glad the Fae exist only in fiction (I say thank you out of habit and couldn't imagine the "debt" I'd be in if Fae existed).

There are a few parts that repeat but that's a production issue. It's doesn't take too much from the story

I didn't much like the direction Samuel went, te action was few and far between compared to previous books.
I felt the pack bond was sketchy seeing as alpha sees all.
I enjoyed the story though. seeing as the object in question left off in the previous book.
narrator is just great with her accents and tones.
definitely enjoy all mercy's books.
she's a cool calm. clever and collected heroine

the least action in the series so far
