Applies More to SAHMs

While there were many useful tips, I needed advice directed more at juggling the responsibilities of self, work, and family.

Some great content, but listen at 2x speed.

The narration is a little tough to get through, but if you up the playback speed, it helps a lot and you'll be glad you persevered. The best part of the book is the first half. She offers some great ideas for implementing routines and schedules, prioritizing self care, saving time, balancing your life, etc. As a mom of young kids, I was getting overwhelmed with being in survival mode all the time, which is not a sustainable way to live (the book talks about burnout). This book gave me the suggestions and advice I was looking for, and there's already been a very noticeable difference in my life after just a few days and implementing just a few things from the book. If nothing else, this book helped me shift the paradigm in which I function and my days include less stress and more energy.

Things I didn't like: The book is narrated by the author and the sing song cadence of her voice gets very repetitive. However, as I mentioned above, speeding it up to 2x makes it easily tolerable. In the middle it gets a little patronizing when discussing self discipline, and there are numerous shameless plugs for the author's own blog, but the content in the first half and some at the end of the book is well worth it.

So applicable!

This book was a lifesaver in a time that I was too overwhelmed to actually read the book. I looked forward to a piece of advice every time I put my headphones on. I feel much more managed and relaxed in myself and my daily routine. Must take a few minutes of your crazy day to listen to this one if you want to end the book with a not so crazy life!

From trapped and overwhelmed to hopeful

This book was like a lifeline in a storm for me! The title called out to me because I have lived in survival mode for so long. it took me about a week and a half to listen to this and in that time I have reassessed my priorities and made some goals that are already making a big difference in my daily life. I feel more organized and less stressed. I am hopeful because these changes feel real not like previous attempts that I have made to get everything figured out all at once. This book has helped me make real changes that I can actually sustain. Thanks Crystal!

This is a great read for all women no matter if you're a wife or a mom or a student. She has a lot of wisdom to share with us. There is practical advice that anyone can follow as long as you are willing to change or improve whether you're having a tough time or you just need a push. Read this, look at your life and be honest with yourself.

The Honest, Noncondemning Approach to Homemaking I Needed

I was pleasantly surprised by this book - it's honest, noncondemning, reality-based, and grace-based advice. I have it in hardcover and am so glad I got to listen to it as well. For me, listening provided the comfort, the "you're not alone in this struggle and it's okay," that is helping me to get beyond my fear of failure as a homemaker and offer myself grace to take it one step at a time. I have mixed feelings about the author reading this book. While it helped it feel more like a conversation, at times I wished there was more variation. Thank you, Crystal Paine, for this book!

Perfect book for a beginner

I really enjoyed this book. I am at a very hectic point in my life. Trying to figure out how to destress, be a wife a mom and a working professional. Crystal's wisdom and insight is so profound yet simple to apply. I see a more positive brighter and better future for my family and I.

I want to love it

But I can't stand her breathy, nasally narration ): I don't know if it's just a low quality recording or if she had a cold, but I haven't been able to get passed the first chapter.

Nothing new

Some good reminders but nothing new here. I listen to many audiobooks so this may be better for someone who is just starting to listen to self-improvement books.
