Story
A national emergency was declared months ago when the electrical grid went down and stayed down. Times are hard and many die off from starvation and disease. We find ourselves now regaled and intrigued with an amusing story about how an old southern prepper met a beleaguered former Japanese restaurant owner under fearful circumstances in this apocalyptic world. The odd couple are forced to team up in order survive food shortages, old age, armed marauders, and life in general as they plot a course to bug out of their current situation.

Story
It was just supposed to be a small, friendly prepper group get-together for some fun in the sun at an Airbnb in Panama City, Florida. However, what it turned into was a mega disaster so large that the attendees, even with their survivalists’ mindsets, had difficulty fathoming its scope and coping with it. The electrical grid was shut down, with no communications and no return flights back home for many of the guests the host had invited. Space weather wasn’t the culprit, so what was impacting the technological world so decisively?

Publisher's Summary
Walt and Yoshi travel away from aunties farmstead to find an isolated island paradise allegedly not far off shore. Just one problem though, they don’t have a boat to get there once they get to the pier. Yoshi jealously guards and carries the “Juice”, a big gourd shaped stainless steel jug of herbal tonic that has taken months to create and is the best cure available for many sicknesses in this grid down world without doctors or pharmacies. Walt is called upon to play herbal medic more than once to his fellow apocalyptic survivors as food and medicine become ever scarcer. Things go from bad to worse as a hurricane rolls in and their vehicle and supplies are lost forever it seems, but they still have the “Juice” a life line and valuable barter tool for the disastrous days ahead. Word comes from a pair of traveling preppers in an RV that a dreaded mysterious pandemic approaches the beach. A corona like virus which seems to be carried by the wind and nick named the Fog threatens everyone’s existence.
Will Walt’s botanical elixir offer a remedy or herbal cure for this ghost disease, or will it be an incurable slate wiper virus for the United States? Currently that is not he and Yoshi’s worry, just finding food and avoiding everyday violence is their most pressing concern. Southern charm, ancient traditional Chinese medicine and the wit and humor of an older surviving population looks to save the day in this prepper fiction tale of adventure and learning!
